A 4 year age gap? Ok. 16 minus 4 is...12. Not exactly a normal age gap for dating at their ages. Maybe if you’re, say, 54 and 50. I’m not sure why Sylvie could never understand why an age gap of 4 years between CHILDREN is not the same as that age gap in ADULTS.
AN AGE GAP OF AN 18 YEAR OLD AND 14 YEAR OLD??? WHATS NOT MAKING SENSE. At 18, it’s typically uncommon/straight up unheard of for people that age to hangout with people even a year or two younger than that, let alone date them. The mental gap between a 14 year old and 18 year old is more than enough, Sylvie, to make sense.
I’m glad those friends spoke up, and cut off contact between you two. If we take her account as true, they probably could have approached it differently. It is clear that by harassing you all it did was confuse you and make you buckle down. They shouldn’t have resorted to name calling, harassment, jumping to conclusions. They should have explained why this age gap is unacceptable in a more respectful way. At the end of the day, they were just trying to protect their friend.
They didn’t convince her you were a pedophile. If you’re 18 and attracted to/dating a 14 year old, that would make you a pedophile.
