Mick and Ray both like musicals. I repeat, they both like musicals
According to Ray, Singing in the rain is the best musical.
Guys, they watch musicals together.
Ray Palmer’s type
Galahad
and of course:Â *Grunt*
vs
*Grunt*
Mick
It had to be made
I hope third time’s the charm for Atomwave
In Lot s3.12, Mick and Ray talk, and it is obvious Ray is going to get himself kidnapped but the writers dropped the ball and had Mick not realize this.
In Lot s3.15, writers dropped the ball again, and Mick left Ray working in the lab, and Ray was beaten bloody by Mallus!Sara while Mick wasn’t there.
So I hope that by next time Mick has asked Gideon to alert him whenever Ray gets even the slightest notion of being in danger, getting into danger or being near even stubbing his toe.
Atomwave + Fantasy au?
Thank you for asking <3 Oh boy anon, you couldn’t have picked a better AU for me.
Ray and Mick are magicians. The reason they stick together is they complement each other’s weaknesses. Mick’s sheer force of will is best coupled lets him bruteforce his way through spells, whereas Ray is the studious one who learns the technicalities of spells and thrives in the details.
They met when Mick saved Ray from a crowd of witch hunters, but didn’t know it would lead to Ray swearing his life into protecting Mick in return. This means Ray also tries to make Mick eat healthier, once even going so far as to glamouring a few carrots to look like meat so Mick would eat them. Mick pretends to be mad at him, but kinda likes the carrots and that this handsome dude is looking out for him.
They didn’t realize they were in love before they travelled briefly with an empath who grew increasingly frustrated seeing them glance at each other like wounded puppies. The empath had them do a mind reading spell on each other to get the ball rolling.
Mick’s familiar is a rat called Graveyard, Ray’s familiar is a lizzard called Slitheros.
They are most powerful when the other is threatened. Once when Ray thought Mick was killed, his power nearly crushed a village but luckily Mick turned up alive and calmed him down.
+ there’s another AU where they are Legolas and Gimli but I guess that’s just my fetish.
The life of an Atomwave shipper
What I expected from s3 episode 13: Basically the entire episode being about Mick rescuing Ray
What I instead got:Â Ray being disrespected by the team (not even noticing him gone) and one brief piece of dialog between Mick and Ray after Ray kinda saved himself and Wally sped Ray onto the ship.
On the plus side, most of the episode was about Ray, but I just don’t understand how the ending of last episode between him and Mick didn’t lead somewhere or have any payoff. Are they waiting until the end of the season for the pay off? Is there even payoff? Urgh.
Courtney Ford is super hot though, and married to Brandon Routh. It’s kinda weird they’re taking them to a shippy direction after Ray hung out with Nora when she was a kid, but whatever. Has Courtney Ford been typecast as the daughter of a psychopath? First Dexter and now Legends. Hopefully she’ll fare better here.
Legends of Tomorrow s2 ep 10 Legion of DOom
We start off by Mick calling everybody out, and Jax telling him off, whereas Ray more gently rebukes Mick.Â
Mick has an idea on how to get Rip back.
Ray looks at him like this. Such a gentle look.
Sara says Mick is right.Â
Ray and Nate both get defensive. Mick smiles.
Unsurprisingly, Mick is immediately cool with Stein having a daughter he kept secret.
I guess he’s kind of friends with Stein too. They have spent some time together. I’m happy they’re friends.
Well, that lasted long.Â
Meanwhile Ray and Stein’s daughter Lily are sciencing.
I love how happy Ray looks.
They celebrate with champagne. Mick is immediately jealous.
He’s just there, for no reason in particular except to awkwardly stop Ray from being alone with Lily.
Mick is honest to a fault, but not usually cruel, not like Rip can be, so this is definitely him being jealous of Ray.
The effect is immediate. When Lily reacts, Mick looks like he didn’t mean for her to get hurt and glances sideways.
Ray jumps in to make up for the situation. But Mick doesn’t seem happy about that.
Mick hits his head again. I asked my friend about it and I still don’t know what it is. He hits himself when he’s stressed, when he’s trying to come up with a word, or when he’s feeling something. Reading WebMD, apparently someone who has endured physical abuse and has substance abuse issues is likely to self-harm, such as hitting yourself in the head. Poor Mick.
The rest of the episode is basically Lily and Stein bonding vs Legion of Doom bonding. It’s good.
