Sometimes he is. Sometimes she is. Sometimes they are.
Sometimes he doesn't say anything. Sometimes she says it all with her eyes. Sometimes they just hold each other and don't ask.
Sometimes that's enough.

Random but one thing that should've tipped me and others off as a kid that I'm not neurotypical is the fact that I get excited easily and stim when I'm happy
People would mostly get annoyed and cringe and say "wtf why are you so happy what the actual fuck is wrong with you" while my friends would go "omg (Tippy) you're so cute when you're happy!"
It took me a while to understand that nt people pretend they're not super happy about something even when they are. But I can't contain my excitement and joy for something even when it's small. So a lot of people would bully me relentlessly and give me really nasty looks.
One time that kind of stood out to me was when I was going to an art summer camp thing when I was 14/15, one of the counselors there was really taken aback by how enthusiastic and happy I was to get to go. She looked surprised when I was really excited and stimming by jumping and flapping my hands around (didn't know what I was doing is called stimming), luckily she didn't put me down for it but instead she said,"Wow! I've never seen anyone so excited like this before! I like your enthusiasm!"
But yeah, a lot of neurotypicals are.... Really weird when it comes to other people getting excited or being enthusiastic about stuff. Just.... Let people be excited.
I'm not sorry for being happy and letting my feelings overflow, and neither should you be. Being excited and filled with joy is not "cringe"
