The boss fights scattered throughout The Last Penelope allow the frenetic, speedy play of the game to come through in a unique fashion in comparison to the other missions in the game. With the bosses often able to bypass the normal tracks the player is speeding along, play becomes a constant repetition of chase and retreat. As they get close enough to deal damage, they’re getting closer to danger, and in a game with such sudden bursts and dips in velocity, a second of impatience or delay can make all the difference.

The Next Penelope is an action/racing/Iliad game by Aurelien Regard, who you may know as a founding member of Arkedo Studio, developer of games like Hell Yeah, Nervous Brickdown, and Big Bang Mini. I miss Arkedo a lot.
