1 : crying

               i  should  have  just  skipped  the  blasted  meeting  like  i  wanted  to .

                                 this  was  all  that  kept  repeating  in  the  reaper’s  mind ,  echoing  over  and  over  like  a  broken  record .  if  she  had  been  irresponsible ,  perhaps  her  vision  wouldn’t  be  blurred  with  tears  right  now ,  as  her  feet  propelled  her  forward  along  rooftops .

                                 when  she  first  left  home ,  it  was  with  an  unhappy  huff  and  a  roll  of  her  eyes ,  complaints  falling  from  crimson  lips  in  a  rather  whiny  tone .  it  was  supposed  to  be  your  normal ,  run  of  the  mill  office  meeting .  discussing  quotas ,  monthly  assignments ,  the usual .  however ,  in  typical  dispatch  fashion ,  they  found  a  way  to  turn  it  into  pointing  out  all  the  negative  things  ( or  really  just  negative  to  them )  they  could  find  about  grell  sutcliff .  it  was  their  favorite  pastime ,  after  all . 

                                   ignoring  the  fact  that  she’s  always  doing  things  she  shouldn’t  ( it’s  only  bad  if  you  get  caught ,  right ? )  –  she  was  quite  torn  up  by  the  unwarranted  attack .  she’d  been  doing  quite  well  she  thought ,  so  it  truly  caught  her  off  guard .

                                   what  she  wanted  more  than  anything  was  to  get  back  home ,  to  her  sanctuary ,  the  place  where  she  knew  it  would  all  be  okay .  her  makeup  was  running ,  leaving  dark  trails  trickling  down  her  cheeks ,  but  that  would  be  okay  too .  she  could  just  slip  inside  quietly ,  rush  off  to  her  room ,  get  over  her  stupid  crying  spell ,  and  fix  herself  up  before  anyone  even  realizes  she’s  there .

                                   and  that  was  the  exact  intention  she  had  right  now ,  carefully  pushing  open  the  door  to  the  manor ,  features  crinkling  at  the  deep ,  ever  so  obvious  creak  of  the  hinges.  god .  the  second  the  door  was  pushed  closed  behind  her ,  she  started  a  beeline  toward  the  nearest  restroom ,  praying  to  herself  that  she  could  make  it  before  anyone  stumbles  across  her .
