Autodesk Inventor Acrylic paint on PLA filament
Yo I completely forgot to make a post for these way back when lol
So I really liked k-pop demon hunters when it came out. I love animated movies and I also love music, so sue me. They had a special showing for the movie in theaters and I wanted to go dressed up, so this is the product of that.
I asked my friends if they preferred saja boys or huntrix and then planned to make one of every person's favourite for watching the movie. To my surprise most people preferred saja boys??? uhm HELLO??!?! (Huntrix 4ever (๑>•̀๑) ) But anyways, I wasn't actually able to make enough saja boy lightsticks (the huntrix ones printed faster), so those suckers had to share. In total there were 2 saja boy and 4 huntrix wands completed.
I modeled the sticks in Inventor over the course of ~a week. The hardest thing was printing them out (testing the fits & size)... my printer is very slow, and most of the printing happened overnight (where I'd be sleeping right next to the printer). Due to fumes you should Not Do This.
Getting the right batteries was a hassle. Not because it was hard (just ordered them off of amazon), but because I couldn't have it ordered to the place I was living (it would 100% get porch pirated), so I had to direct my father to get them for me. Also yadda yadda yadda had to make sure the batteries had enough power and small enough to fit in the small space. Coin batteries worked perfectly. Probably could've fit A23 batteries in there (what I wanted to do), but honestly that would've been overkill. The coin batteries last long enough.
A lot of the assembly happened at my uni's makerspace. There, my friend helped me set up a bunch of prints on their 3D printers. (Many printers which are all must faster than mine), but even so the prints weren't quite finished by the time we had to pack up due to the library closing. It was just a cosmetic flaws that I was able to cover up later. During the printing is when I soldered the electronics together. Nothing crazy, just a couple LEDs hooked up to the battery holder and a button switch (have to be holding the button down for it to stay on). Also did a decent amount of the painting then. Finished the painting at my house that night.
That night I also worked on a saja boys robe. Just did some simple modifications to an old ghostface halloween costume: turned the hood into a collar, cut a slit down the middle, and added buttons and button loops. Used an old red craft rope as the belt.
Also made a little hat. I would've wanted to make a full sized gat but it was simply impossible within the timeframe. Opted for printing out a mini hat and hot gluing it to a hair clip. I also made a black beaded necklace for it. I think I made the model but I can't find the file?!?!?, and if I nabbed it off thingiverse I can't find it there either. A mystery 🫨.
