NEW EPISODE SPOILERS❗❗

Okay so first of all,

LOOK AT PURPLE FLAPPING THEIR WINGS OOOH MY BABY 🥹🥹

Now, I really like how they portrayed King's flashbacks here, making him protect Purple a lot after, not even daring to let anything happen to him, and running back after the player who attacked Purple to get revenge. The revenge he never got after Gold's death

And I also really like how King Orange worried about Purple, protected him, and in this scene vvv

realized that Purple doesn't need to be babysitted so much, because they can protect themselves from danger, and he's stronger than King sees him.

That's why in this scene ⬇️⬇️ King hesitated to join the fight, and hid the axe, because he believed in Purple

ALSO NOTICE HOW PURPLE'S WINGS WENT DOWN WHEN HE GOT A REAL PARENT HUG AFTER SO LONG

Last thing, it's funny and hella impressive to me how King can just carry heavy shit, jump with it, swing it around and not get visibly tired lol

and he beat up an armor stand with FULL NETHERITE ARMOR in the last episode

I love that Minecraft consistently carries with it this motif of self-discovery, in Alan Becker stories.

Before it was introduced, RYGB didn't have much discernible personality. The few motes of distinct characterization one could point to in AvA4 weren't really enough to build whole characters on. But that changed once they picked up Minecraft. There's no telling why they gravitated toward specific disciplines right from the beginning, but once they became invested in those disciplines that was it.

Even Orange's character grew from this. He may not have chosen a specific discipline, unlike the others, but his personality still shines through his playstyle.

But what really made me recognize this theme was the Beta short. Chosen and Dark have only one Minecraft video to their names, but it ended up being such a formative experience for both of them.

Even Purple kinda kept with this theme. The episode where he gets his elytra kinda gives the impression that he picked them up just for completion's sake, but now the flight they grant him is such an ingrained part of him that he finds ways to fly even without them. And of course we can't forget his emotional journey.

The only one I'm not sure about is King, but maybe that's what season 5 will explore.
