I still don't know how to upload art to tumblr without the quality getting absolutely screwed up

I've been drawing Aki Yazaki for so many years, so when I heard that she makes a cameo at the end of The Final Stroke I knew her design was going to be different from what I've been envisioning all these years. I developed my version of her based on her design in the High Speed! manga adaptation. When I saw her in the movie I was surprised! I thought they would at least take some inspiration from the manga version, same as I did. So I decided to do this drawing comparing the Final Stroke version of her compared to the design I've been using since, like, I don't even know, maybe 2017? 2018? I don't remember when I started drawing her tbh LMAO.

I dunno, what are y'all's thoughts on her movie design? Do you like it? I don't hate it, but I think I prefer making her look more like her manga design. I might try sticking with the way I've been drawing her, but maybe I'll change her hair and eye colors to match the movie? I'll have to play around with it and see how it feels. What do y'all think?

Tbh i don't remember if Satomi has that much description in High Speed! 2 lmao I am in desperate need of a re-read for both of the books ;;

Nonetheless I've drawn her like five times now? And I gave her a design of my own because I'm a character designer and felt like it haha. I tried to give her a design that not only matched her character but also complimented Ikuya and Aki in a way that made sense to me.

So here you go, anon! I put a lot more effort into this than I thought I would lmao

also here is a bonus lineart I did because i had to remember how to draw both of them (i don't draw either of them nearly enough)

5. Which two characters who have never interacted in canon do you wish would interact?

Hiyori and Nagisa!!!!!!!!!! (That tiny interaction doesn't count) Also Rei and Hiyori? I think both Nagisa and Rei would be REALLY good at helping Hiyori understand healthy friendship and boundaries, as well as helping him gain self confidence!! Kisumi and Natsuya would also be a really good (chaotic) combo!

It’s my precious son! I started this painting before season 3 came out and just finished it a couple of weeks ago, lmao. I’ve always wanted to do a painting of Keith and now I’ve finally done it. I think Tumblr might’ve dulled the quality of it tho ;v;

Okay y'all.... what we thinkin? I did a couple sketches of Aki the way I usually draw her, and put these comparisons of the color scheme I've always used for her, which is on the left, vs. her color scheme from The Final Stroke, on the right.

Which do you prefer?
