Inktober 2018 day 29 - Anna
Day 29 of the #FEtober2018 ~ It's "axe unit" today. I almost forgot that Anna in feh is an axe unit. So I drew her.
Quick overview
Who knew I would be blessed by Marth for my bday, ironically his Nendoroid caused me huge discomfort on the 18th bday but anyway this beautiful man, this gorgeous boy, this blueberry should be treasured. Not only is he a rare green tempest unit but comes with a solid weapon and skill set. He’s a solid choice for anyone’s groom or team.
Base kit
Marth comes with ardent service which grants +4atk to him and adjacent allies at the start of the turn. This effectively makes it a 18mt weapon. This effectively means it can outclass a lot of weapons. Wings of Mercy is a solid skill, and while Marth won’t need it due to an amazing move type, it’s nice to have. Drive attack is one of the best C skills in the game allowing many units to pick up KO’s, and for all the fodder people out there yes he has it at 4*s meaning you can have beautiful 5 star man and the fodder too. But finally Marth comes with Rally spd/def which is one of the better rallies out there, and if run with a foritfy res seal, Marth can buff all 4 stats of an Ally.
As for A slots, Fury is a clear choice to buff Marths overall effectiveness, while atk/def bond also has its uses. The newly added brazen atk/def in the 4 star pool is also a highly coveted option for defensive sets.
Pros + Cons
+Amazing weapon
+Solid defence stat to boot
+Free tempest unit
-Needs at least 1 ally on the field to get his free +4 atk
-Lack of ivs and merges hurts
-Low res is never nice
Partners
The best enviroment for Marth is typically horse emblem or at least another horse unit to stick close to him due to similar move, though if using something like vantage or desperations dancers and WOM support is nice. Marth needs protection from red units though so strong blue units like Effie, Shiro, Lukas, Oboro are all solid partners, while legendary Ephraim can dispose of a threat and Marth follow insuit to provide the buff.
Suggested set(s)
Hanna Marthana
Suggested ivs: n/a
Ardent service+, reposition, Bonfire
Slot A = Fury
Slot B = desperation/vantage
Slot C = drive atk, def smoke
Sacred seals: def tactic, buff skills or any c skill
Weapon Refinery: +spd helps him the most and pushes his speed to a nice and comfy 42 before any buffs.
A best of both worlds” set and relies on Marth using furys hp loss to his advantage. Vantage is the best option for this skill letting him strike first enemy phase, but desperation can be taken to sweep teams if on a horse emblem team, though it maybe advised to change his weapon then. A slaying axe is ideally the best option, while having the giant spoon can add extra firepower.
Oh Marth God, he got an alt
Suggested ivs: N/a
Ardent service +, reposition, bonfire/draconic aura
Slot A = brazen atk/def, sturdy stance
Slot B = quick riposte, axe breaker, renewal, guard
Slot C = drive attack
Sacred seals: spd+3, atk+3, close defence
Weapon Refinery: +spd for this set, he wants to secure as many doubles as he can naturally.
Basically a baity set. Marth excels at being able to bait a strong unit out then double them thanks to his high speed. Brazen atk/def is a excellent option for this as once below 80% you can gain +7 atk/def in combat both phases. The B slot is the main issue, quick riposte barely synergises with Marth but ensures quick riposte, axe breaker can help against bold fighter axe armours, while renewal is interesting to go back to full hp at the cost of your buffs, though you can avoid this with sturdy stance. Finally Guard denies the foe charges, allowing Marth to safely attack a unit like Lukas or Shiro a little easier.
Quick overview
Legendary Hector quite frankly makes the other Hectors jealous and then some. The best stat spread with a base 40 atk, and solid weapon and highly optimised bas skill set, make L Hector something to be feared. It's also worth noting Hector emblem will be a thing soon, and this Hector will probably be the star of the team, along with something like Beard Armards I hope.
Base kit
Thunder Armads is a very good but gimmicky weapon. Basically its wary fighter if the allies around Hector outnumber the foes around Hector in 2 Spaces. Basically it's a "Freindship weapon" It also never limits Hector making the double, though he won't naturally due to his speed, so in general it's pretty solid, it does mean though the easiest way to counter Hector is to pick of his team mates first. Vengeful fighter synergises nicely with his weapon allowing him to double with increased specials, which combined with draconic aura means he'll always proc it. Ostia's Pulse is esentially a tactic version of infantry pulse for all movement types, meaning this skill shines in mixed teams. A lot of units make good use of this if Hectors on the team but if running in armour emblem you probably want something else. Oh and there's distant counter which as we all know is b-u-s-t-e-d.
As for assist pivot, swap and reposition are your main movement options for armours, though Pivot is probably the best.
Pros + Cons
+ Amazing attack
+Solid defensive line
+Comes with a stellar base kit to wreck havoc
-One movement hurts a fair bit with armour march support
-If his team goes down, he's a lot easier to KO
-Arguably too similar to other Hectors to warrant a pull.
Partners
Linde and Dealtha are the first Pics which come to mind thanks to dark aura and giving +6 atk to Hector while also blowing red out the water. Tana is another solid choice for that reason but instead of the atk boost she provides guidance support. L Ryoma is a solid partner thanks to being red and covering other greens while Hector covers the blue weakness. Plus Tyoma can give Hector Guidance support and together provide units +4 to def and +2 atk. Along with that hp boost.
Suggested set(s)
Hector, this is the 3rd time you’ve shown Armads this week
Suggested ivs: +atk/def -res/hp/spd
Thunder armads, pivot, Bonfire/draconic aura
Slot A = Distant counter
Slot B = Vengeful fighter
Slot C = Ostias pulse or any C slot
Sacred seals: Close/distant defence
A sole enemy phase set for Hector, allows him to destroy with things in just one engagment thanks to his weapon. Ideally using Hector on a drive team is ideal to give Hector as many boosts as possible. His c skill is really dependant on the team, in mixed teams ostias pulse is broken but otherwise you'll probably want something else, ideally drive def/res to help keep team mates alive, as after all he does need them to proc his weapon.
Gimmie, gimmie, gimmie, a Armads after midnight
Suggested ivs: +Atk/def -spd/res/hp
Thunder armads, pivot, Bonfire, Ignis, Draconic aura, Dragon fang
Slot A = Distant counter
Slot B = Bold fighter
Slot C = Ostias pulse or any C slot
Sacred seals: Quickened pulse or quick riposte
So Bold fighter is arguably one of the best skills in the game, if not the best B slot and for good reason, no hp threshold and allows massive amounts of burst damage for armours. L Hectors whopping 40 atk stat allows him to heavily punish foes on playerphase instead of enemy but with quickened pulse can proc a 1 battle Ignis of all things. Ideally you keep DC there's little reason to change it and makes it hard to engage hector especially with the quick riposte seal. Of course Quick riposte and Quickened pulse can't be used at the same time so pick carefully before blowing your foes up.
Quick overview
So I’ve learnt there’s a lot of things that make you hot in life, fever’s, the british summer, computer boards you should not touchie and Linus pecs. Ho boy I’m just saying Linus.. erm back on topic, Linus’s brute show of “strength” certainly show themselves and he’s one heck of a free unit bundle, good skills, killer weapon and the looks to boot. Just wow.
Base kit
Basilikos is a terrifying axe granting a faster cooldown and life and death passive when refine. We’ve all seen Raven with it and Linus is that but with more defence and attack., oh and he has Brazen atk/spd which is well yeah….. brutal. Luna is also incredibly solid and allows him to smash tanks apart. Finally drive def aint as brutal but still nice.
Basically slapping desperation on him could be a day but wrath is a expensive option to really charge this guy up. Another option is vantage but is inferior to the other options.
Pros + Cons
+33 speed seems meh but when at the right hp Linus goes to 33> 40 > 45 with L+D in his weapon
+His attack?? 65 by the end of that
+Free unit
-He lacks ivs and merge potential as of now
-Raven
-If anything he’s limited
-Bonus - His attack ain’t 69 it was so close
Partners
Linde and Delthea with Darka aura can provide the +6 atk boost to make him a monster, while L Lyn offers spd tactic to push him past 50 speed. Eirika and Ephraim also offer dual buffs due to their weapons, Eirika especially appreciates Linus’s ability to destroy blue units.
Suggested set(s)
Fangs of the fangs
Suggested ivs: N/A
Basilikos, reposition , draconic aura
Slot A = brazen atk/spd
Slot B = desperation
Slot C = any c skill
Sacred seals: heavy blade
Weapon refinery: life and death clearly
Yeah I really doubt you won’t be running this as your budget set, draconic aura really hurts, and thanks to desperation and heavy blade procs each round. Once you hit below 80% its hard to stop a offensive Linus. Whats nice is he won’t have to give up defences to get spd and atk boosts which is nice,
Wrathful bite
Suggested ivs: N/A
Basilikos, reposition , draconic fang
Slot A = brazen atk/spd
Slot B = wrath
Slot C = any c slot
Sacred seals: heavy blade
Weapon refinery: life and death
Similar to the above set but with wrath. However a change to draconic fang, which is a, now, 3 turn special, which once hit once, and striking once with HB, Linus will unleash a base 40~ damage special on his foes, which KO’s most cast members at full hp. Infact only one unit survives at base and thats Hinata of all units. But in generally it works similarly to the above set, the more atk the better.
Quick overview
Titania in some ways got screwed by the newest update. We were expecting something amazing but then tragedy struck when all she got was a legendary emerald axe with res tactic? Mind you res tactic is the important thing here for a lot of reasons. For a start, Titania is currently the only unit in the game able to run 3 tactic skills at once meaning she can be a deadly buff bot to the rest of the team. Still in order to do so she leaves her self wide open to reds to be careful.
Base kit
Draconic Poleaxe's name is very misleading just being a glorified emerald axe, however having res tactic as a refine is really nice for the most part so it's not all bad. Guard helps her tanking role as it stops units like Reinhardt charging their specials. Reciprocal aid is nice for healing allies though nothing ground breaking. Finally armoured blow is nice I guess? Honestly Titania is a defensive unit by nature and probably won't be needing it all that much. To round her out iceberg or glacies is suggested due to her res stat. Any C skill works but the most notable shoutout is tactic skills due to being able to apply 3 tactic skills at once.
Pros + Cons
+ A legendary emerald axe with res tactic is nice I suppose
+Killer Blue mage counter
+Being a cavalry unit means 3 move and horse buffs which is nice.
-If you use her trio tactics then you leave her wide open to red units
-Very poor attack at base
-Lacks diversity a lot of the time making her easy to plan for.
Partners
So there is one unit in the game who heavily benefits and synergises so well with Titania. And that unit is Eirika. Because of Titanias triple tactic skills she guarantees Eirika at least +6 in 3 stats on her self and then +6 from her weapons effect, effectively putting her at +12 in all stats, not to mention Eirika able to give Titania buffs as well. Whats more Titania thanks to her legendary weapon's main passive can demolish blue units who oppose Eirika. Overall She's the best team mate Eirika could hope for. Outside of that any mixed team or horse emblem team is glad to have her, units like Camilla who can give buffs to horse units while not themselves a horse unit are also enjoyed.
Suggested set(s)
Tactina
Suggested ivs: +atk/spd -hp
Draconic poleaxe, reposition, iceberg
Slot A = Distant counter, fury, fierce stance, close defence
Slot B = Guard
Slot C = tactic skill, ploys or any c skill
Sacred seals: def tactic, drive skills.
Weapon refinery: In this set we're abusing her tactic refine, however if you don't plan to run tactics then go with something like +spd or +res
Titania is the only unit able to use triple tactics as of now and thats part of the main reason to use her, with def tactic as a seal she can pick either the spd or atk tactic in the C slot, with atk tactic being the more prefered choice, while someone units may enjoy the spd to prevent doubles.Guard allows her to stop units breaking through her and thus stop her providing buffs, while you could use QR she's generally speedy as is. As for her A lot, DC is a no brainer and she's still up there pick wise however fury is a nice budget option or stance skills.
Dual phase, green bean machine
Suggested ivs: +atk/spd -hp/def
Slaying axe+, reposition, iceberg
Slot A = Fury, distant counter
Slot B = desperation, green tome breaker
Slot C = ploys or any c slot
Sacred seals: spd +3, atk+3, ploys
Weapon refinery: Go +spd or +res, +res more so if using DC or ploys.
Titania doesn't have to wield a Emerald axe, instead she can run a slaying axe to shorten the time taken to proc iceberg, to help remedy her offence. Infact it helps she's able to be slightly dual phase with a slaying axe either using desperation to sweep through a foe or DC to counter mages to then use desperation to sweep. However fury is a good option for general purposes and as always super powerful with desperation.
Quick overview
So we’ve come full circle, for anyone here from the beginning you’ll know Tiki was the first guide I posted, and I think I was lowkey mad at everyone saying she was the worst summer unit when she’s actually one of the better ones. While no longer an actual dragon, She comes with a pretty good base kit and the ability to deal tons of damage both offensively and defensively. Overall I think Tiki is one of my favourite special units in terms of usability and her art as well. Plus this guide can hopefully do her more justice now.
Base kit
So Tiki comes with the melon crusher, a weapon which grants +2 to all stats if at 100% but then takes -2 damage after combat. It’s essentially a free mini fury when at full and considering Tikis defences you can always heal back up with something like renewal if you gave it to her. The weapon stacks beautifully with her A slot, close defence which grants +6 to both defences when attacked. This overall when attacked at full hp puts her at 40 defence when attacked. Sol isn’t the best skill out there but at least she can use it to heal back up to full. Finally axe valour has no arena use but its a good training skill.
If you want to maximise her defensive options, quick riposte or renewal should be considered with her base kit, one allows for more doubles, while the other increases her longevity. Reposition and swap are also valid options for a defensive playstyle.
Pros + Cons
+Amazing attack stat, 36 at base is amazing
+Amazing defence as well, 32 can let her be a wall
+Solid base skills make her somewhat easy to build.
-Her speed is in the no mans lands where increasing does help but not enough to survive higher tier threats.
-Being limited means you never know when she’s available
-Lowish res means she’ll find it hard to live even blue mages.
Partners
Tiki mainly cares about attack, so Linde and Delthea are the go to options thanks to dark aura, they can provide a +6 buff and another buff as well. This means Tiki with +atk can reach as high as 59 on initiation with a brave axe. Other atk buffers like Sanaki, Siegbert and V Lilina are also solid choices to boost the team. You can also use defence tactic users like L Ike and Shiro to help bolster her defence for defensive sets.
Suggested set(s)
BURN BABY BURN
Suggested ivs: +atk -hp/res/spd
Brave axe+, reposition, bonfire/draconic aura
Slot A = Death blow
Slot B = Axe breaker, desperation*
Slot C = Any C skill
Sacred seals: Atk+3, brash assault*
The basic brave axe set does wonders, she can hit nearly as hard as a unboosted Cherce and thanks to tactic skills can now receive +6 atk buffs herself. The main choice you have to make is the B slot, you can argue that brash assault and desperation make a great combo which they do but in general axe breaker is a safe option which allows you to deal with units like Hector, Sheena, C Lissa and Amelia and you can tank a hit at full most of the time.
Beached Dragon
Suggested ivs: +atk/def-res/hp
Melon Crusher/Slaying Axe/ Sack o’gifts / Giant spoon/ Handbell+, reposition, bonfire/ignis
Slot A = Close defence, steady breath
Slot B = Wrath, quick riposte
Slot C = Any C skill
Sacred seals: close defence
Weapon refinery: Across all the weapons +def is probably enjoyed the most but +spd and +atk can change certain match ups.
So Tiki makes a great enemy phase unit and whats more you don’t have to give up her weapon to do so, though there's plenty of options, I will say Giant spoon is the best option but its only against 1 or two more units, which are red arguably something you’d be avoiding. Still any of them with close defence is pretty decent. If you have wrath she’s a excellent choice for it, otherwise quick riposte gets you pretty similar results. So weigh up your budget plans. Ignis is prefered most of the time, if using quick riposte but bonfire + steady breath + slaying axe means she can proc the special whenever hit, which in this case she’d be at 49 if +def or 46 is +anything else. Like I said the best part is that she comes with close defence and Melon crusher, you won’t have to worry about premium skills unless you truly adore her.
