When the clock struck midnight all Hell broke loose. Confetti exploded from the ceiling as a seemingly endless line of champagne corks flew over the densely packed party goers. The band struck up in a traditional Vesuvian song to celebrate the new decade ahead.
You found yourself pulled into the embrace of a very very drunk stranger who loudly whispered something about "fuck yeah new year!"before planting a very sloppy kiss directly on your lips. The amount of alcohol clinging to their tongue was almost enough to get you drunk. You coughed, pushing them away.
'Gross' you thought, wiping your mouth of their taste as the stranger stumbled away with a loud 'whoop'. You glanced around. Why was a random stranger the one to pull you into your first kiss of the new decade. Where were they?
The thick crowd of cheers and flowing champagne made it very difficult to place yourself. Your head spun. All of these faces were unrecognizable to you. Someone shoved a flute of champagne into your hands and another elbowed you into a random direction.
And then a firm hand gripped your arm, pulling you away from the heat and confusion. When you gather your bearings you're granted only a moment of clarity. The grip drags you down the hallway further and further from the noise until its only a low rumble and the vibrations no longer reverberate through your legs. They brush their dark veil away from their face and you're absolutely delighted.
"V-" but your short sentence is cut even shorter with an aggressive kiss. You both as their pointed tongue slides past your lips in what felt like an attempt to remove any lingering taste of the unwanted kiss. They press your body into the wall and close the gap between your two bodies as if they can't get close enough to you. You shiver when they bite down into your lip and the champagne flute slips from your fingers and crashes against the floor. The distant sounds of the party seem to get further and further away as you let yourself relax beneath them and allow your hands to wrap around them. The fine fabrics of their party costume was always such an odd feeling when you were so used to feeling the thick sterile fabric of their uniform.
"...you came" you whisper as the two of your foreheads meet. That familiar coldness is a welcome reprieve against the uncomfortable burning in your cheeks and you allow your eyes to close. Not once did Valdemar loosen their grip on your arm.
"I'll never let another touch you again"
