Welcome Views First Seen in Petrified Forest National Park! by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: At a roadside pullout at Tiponi Point in Petrified Forest National Park with a view looking to the north across colorful badlands and eroded formations. A nearby sign mentioned silence one might hear in this part of the national park. Except for the wind, there was most definitely silence! In composing the image, I decided to angle my Nikon SLR camera slightly downward and use the height from my viewpoint to capture a sweeping view across this high desert landscape in northern Arizona. I later worked with control points in DxO PhotoLab 4 and then made some adjustments to bring out the contrast, saturation and brightness I wanted for the final image.

The tall cypress trees all around, sunlight coming from above and a nice coolness still in the air with spring temperatures.

A Grassy Meadow on a Farm in Indiana Dunes National Park by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: While walking the Bailly Chellberg - Little Calumet Loop with a view looking to the north and across a grassy meadow in a historic farm in Indiana Dunes National Park. My thinking in composing this image was to manipulate the swivel LCD screen on my Nikon D850 and use that to capture a sweeping view across this meadow. By swiveling the LCD screen and using LiveView to compose and focus the image, I could also avoid having to bend down.

Exploring Everglades National Park Secrets at Eco Pond by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: While walking around and exploring Eco Pond in Everglades National Park with a view extending to the north across the waters present. I was drawn into this setting between the greens and yellows in waters and trees in contrast to the blues of the skies above. I took advantage of a boarded walkway and angled my Nikon Z8 Mirrorless Camera to create more of a sweeping view across this national park landscape.

Mesquite Trees at the Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes (Death Valley National Park) by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: While walking the Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes in Death Valley National Park with a view looking to the north and at some nearby mesquite trees. With this image, I wanted to include the trees as well as some nearby bushes and then align myself to have them fill the setting. I also like the backdrop of the snowcapped mountains and blue skies above to complement this national park location.
