Going to take some pictures of Crystal’s nearly barefoot feet, her cute bay dapples and an updated confo shot when I see her next weekend! If it’s quiet I might see what height she is without shoes, as well!

I just realised I have to clean my everything-horsey...

14. Little Aspects of Life...
I'm beginning to realize how hard it is to achieve what you want in life. Nothing comes without hard work, and although it's never too late, it takes time to get what you need. I feel like time is just too short.
Next year, I go to college. My mother doesn't understand why I want to work with horses instead of doing veterinary nursing. She wants me to be happy, but she wants me to be safe. Dad think's I'm making the right choice. But, that's the thing...
Nobody is Guaranteed to get a job after college.
I'm not like a lot of people in this world. I don't want more money than I need. I don't want to live in an unreasonably big house with land that goes to waste. I just want to live in the country, and have a house that has just enough rooms for them all to have a purpose. I need room for a horse or two - which will hopefully include the foal I will someday work with from as young as a yearly. Maybe younger. I want a job I love, and enough money to take care of the things that need to be taken care of.
There's nothing I want more than to be happy. It's hard to be happy.
450 leaving cert points. Four yeas in University College, Dublin. A job I love. A nice house that's just right. A horse, maybe two. My foal.
I just hope it's not too late to start.

11. Good Rides and a Different Crystal
Lately, Crystal and I have made a big change. I moved her back to the snaffle, and I decided to start hacking her a lot more. At the start, it was mostly because the lack of rain here in Ireland left the arena deep and dusty, but I think this is something I really want to keep doing.
I have ridden Crystal every day this week, apart from Friday (I was home sick..). Yesterday was the only day of the week that she didn't go on a hack - even if it was a half hack, half arena ride. She's suddenly changed from this horse that tries to take off, chucks the reins from my hands, and could rear at any second, to a horse I can chill on in a field of horses, confident that she won't sun away on me.
Today, I rode half and half, starting in the arena. We did a good bit of flat work - which I always do. Bu, today I just did extra and tossed around in my head on whether I should jump of not. She's carrying a bit of weight... But, the course was small enough because my friend was jumping her young horse, so I just popped around those. And, there was a girl at the gate watching me, who usually criticizes everything I do wrong. Or, what she thinks I'm doing wrong. But, today she told me I jumped really well, and that she'd never seen Crystal so relaxed. As I was about to add a bit more flat work, aiming to work off her belly a bit, one of the guys asked if i wanted to go on a hack, so I did. Now, normally, I have to ride Crystal in front on hacks or she will get dance'y and bold and hard enough to manage. But, when this guy decided to be a freak and speed-trot up the lane, passing me out, Crystal didn't panic, or try run with them. She didn't even change her pace. We walked down through the forest, and she walked up banks she took off up once upon a time and she was just really relaxed and I give her a small canter along the top of the stream cause I couldn't be arsed to go dodge it's over grownness. Then I got off, and did the gate, and got back on. Which was easy today, because she stood still instead of trying to walk off on me. To get back to the yard, now all I had to do was go through the paddocks. This is usually the most difficult part of the hack because she know's she is going home. Usually, she tries to chuck the reins from your hands and take off. And if you don't let her, she could rear depending on how bold she is that day. But, today I got on and we walked across the paddocks and she was all relaxed and it was just amazing. So I trotted, and she didn't even try go towards the hill she usually canters up or anything, she just trotted back perfectly quietly and we walked out the gap and back up the lane to the yard. Today was a good day,
