Final Badge Quest Update

Latias reclaimed. And this Badgequest? Done!

After an incredible 820 run aways, Latias is finally mine. My average for this Badgequest is going to be stupid.

For those that don’t know and are confused, i actually failed my first attempt at a shiny Latias in my Ultra Moon last year. I got the shiny, but i had underestimated the turns i would need to get her health down and catch her, so she struggled herself to death. I told myself i wouldn’t go for a reclaim until i was fully prepared, which is why i waited so long. The entire idea of revisiting this Badgequest was to have an opportunity to hunt this again. And with the masterball the game gives you, there was no way i could fail it this time. 

If you count the massive gap after i got Treecko, this Badgequest has taken me a little over two years to complete. Its been a long journey, but a worthwhile one.

*I had the resets for this recorded on my previous computer and the data backed up on an external hard drive, but the computer is now toast and the data on the hard drive got corrupted so i don’t have the exact number anymore.

Wow, looking at this now i realized i got 6 shinies this month. Over half the badge quest, that’s crazy. 

After doing the math:

-I got 18 shiny Pokemon including all phases and targets

-I did an approximate total of 51,246 encounters

-my average shiny rate for this Badgequest was 1 in 2847, which i believe is even better than my average for my previous Badgequest.

So yeah, Badgequest over. It’s honestly over much sooner than i thought it would be, but i’m not complaining. 

I think ill be taking a break from shiny hunting for a week or so. (I have been at this since march after all) I want to give myself time away from it and come back to shiny hunting fresh. I’ve got a good few hunts i want to finish before Sword and Shield come out, so i have no shortness of hunts to tackle in the meantime. I would like to finish getting the rest of the starters, and continue my goal to get all available legendary shinies (from Oras and the Ultra Games, anyway). So stay tuned! There’ll be more shinies to come.

Badge Quest Update 10

Full odds fossil Anorith after only 1087 resets. Madness.

Was technically double fossil hunting this alongside Cranidos. I had my Alpha Sapphire game (with the charm) set up with Cranidos and my Omega Ruby with full odds Anorith. I was only counting resets on one game, so I've actually done double that number. And even still that’s good odds. 

I’m just shocked i got Anorith before Cranidos. Ah well. just means ill have time to prepare and come back later with 5 fossils instead of one.

Only one hunt left! My Latias reclaim will be totally worth this whole badgequest. See you all then.

Badge Quest Update 9

I may have forgotten to make this post when i got Clampearl, and now i’m two shinies behind (i got clampearl a couple weeks ago and the target after tonight) so lets get caught up. 

i got Clampearl after only 2826 random encounters. Id gone into the hunt fully expecting to get a Chinchou (with how some of my other hunts had been going) and i have to say i was pleasantly surprised by this. Don’t know what i’ll evolve it into yet, but that’ll be stuff to worry about in postgame. For now, I've still got things to do.
