Aurora (Ophiuchus), Mia (Sagittarius, Apprentice of Aurora), Fujiya (Apprentice of Dokho), The Golden Women of my fiction W/Milo, Shion, Kanon, Silvers, specters & more original characters. Romance, rivalry, wars and more. (FR) Check it out ! https://archiveofourown.org/works/17565236/chapters/41396057
This post will include all of the Specters who had close to almost no screen time, or that were defeated before accomplishing anything good. I was debating whether or not putting Worm Raimi in here too, but I wanted to rant about him in a different post so there’s that.
I’m not writing anything about Ochs (we call him Ox, what the hell happened to the original name), Mills and Cube because they don’t even appear. It’s just their Surplices, used by Saga, Shura and Camus.
Lycaon Phlegyas
I had to spell check him three times because that name is written completely different from the Italian one and I was very confused (the Italian one is Flegiàs)
Overall score (character, not looks): 2/10
Honestly, did he even do something at all? Besides being a pain for Hyoga and Shiryu, he got his ass handed to him in three seconds flat. He’s definitely one of my least favorite “minor” Specters, because he didn’t even stand a chance.
And he should have stood a chance, since he’s a Celestial Star.
But no. Kanon kicked him so bad he ceased to exist.
Come on.
Alraune Queen
Overall score (character, not looks): 3/10
For one of the most powerful Specters of the Underworld, he certainly didn’t shine as much as I hoped he would.
I love him, don’t get me wrong, but I feel like he should have easily overpowered Shiryu. He’s a Celestial Star, so it would have made much more sense for him to have the upper hand. At least for a longer time that what we got, given the situation.
I get that Shiryu is basically a Gold Saint at that point, and that he’s aided by Athena’s influence, but that doesn’t explain how Queen got overwhelmed so quickly despite being so exceptionally powerful.
He gets a bad score because of what happened, not because he’s a bad character overall.
Minotauros Gordon
Overall score (character, not looks): 4/10
Same as Queen.
Extremely disappointing, despite being one of the most powerful Specters out there.
Although, I really enjoyed that he was able to actually do some serious damage, breaking Shiryu’s arm and subsequently shattering Excalibur almost effortlessly. That was a feat worthy of a Celestial Star, and I appreciated it.
But he got blasted into nothingness by Shiryu’s attack nonetheless, so... he gets a bad score as well. Just a tad higher than his companion.
Basilisk Sylphid
Another one I struggled with spelling, but only because he has an even crazier name in Italian, Shilfield.
Overall score (character, not looks): 3/10
You can see where this is going, right?
Slamming Shiryu into a wall is not enough to deem you worthy of the label of exceptionally powerful Specter.
Though, his dedication? Legendary. He went as far as jumping into the Hyperdimension to retaliate against Shiryu, but I’m not giving him more points for that. Why, you might ask? Because jumping into the Hyperdimension it’s freaking stupid and he should have known better.
I get it, he’s not that high rank to logically know about something so important, but come on. You don’t blindly jump into something you have no idea about just out of rage.
He had much more potential than what they showed us, because obviously the plot needed our beloved protagonists to shine. I love him so much, but I have to give him a low score.
Cyclops Giganto
Overall score (character, not looks): 1/10
Annoying. That’s the only words I can find to describe him.
He did give a bit of trouble to Mu and Seiya, and his only point comes from the brain he actually showed to possess, but other than that... a pretty useless character, if you ask me.
He did nothing other than complain and act tough, and passed all the temples before Virgo out of luck and not ability.
First aided by Myu, who slowed down both Mu and Seiya, and then by Raimi, who slowed engaged in combat with Aiolia. He wasn’t even successful in getting information from Mu when the Saint got ambushed.
Was he smart? Yes, and I liked it. Was he useful? Not in the slightest, and I hated it.
Why even introduce him as a character with more relevance than the others, if all he did was waste time and fail at doing his job?
