Dakota Blue swinging by to take you for a ride on their ambient time-machine. It’s sure a piece of engineering one could make some seriously good use of these days, imagine the things you could potentially put on a more proper path - what I wouldn’t want to put on a different path is the aesthetics Dakota Blue seem to wrap themselves in, this lofi and dusty ambient feel of old tape machines and 4-track cassette recorders. With access to pretty much everything when wanting to record or mix a tune these days, it can sometimes be harder to make actually sound real. Everyone’s huntin’ for that oldschool analogue sound - it’s pretty simple though, just do it that way, write some good songs and play them well and you’re set.
Now I don’t know how this outfit went about recording or doing the mix of their track ‘Lie Right’, but it also doesn’t really fucking matter - it sounds nice, it feels right - what more do you want really?
Put it on your sunday playlist, it’s a perfect fit - especially if you want to get your head out of the Christmas-race, or well actually corona’s pretty much taking care of that for most of us anyways. Then definitely find a place to have a bath, lots of bubbles - put this on and you’ll be forgetting most anything not related to instant bliss.
