(   someone   )         someone was going to end up dead.       of that hank knew the moment he laid eyes on his wife.       BEATEN.       back door cracked open, flapping in the wind softly.    in a HEARTBEAT his gun was raised.     he cast her a look   -   ‘ are they still here? ‘      if they were?   chances of them leaving alive were slim to none.    he’d shoot whoever had laid a hand to his wife like the animal they were.

dead.             ( his cami )           she was – gone.     breathe—he couldn’t breathe.    he’d been STRONG for them, justin & erin.         ( STOIC )     but now?    alone in their room where it – it still smelled like her.   her shirt, no… his shirt   ( it had started out his but she’d claimed it years ago )  it still smelt like her.   on his knees beside their bed hank clutched the damn shirt so hard his knuckles turned white.   tears streamed down his hardened face,  and he fell back, sitting against the side of the bed they’d shared.   one that would always be cold now ; lonely.   one he’d never again feel her curling into him.   no more pillow talk or kisses good morning or good night.    though she’d forever be the first thing he’d see in the morning, and the last thing he saw at night.   the mother of his children was gone and hank couldn’t keep up the show of strength any longer.   burying his face into her shirt he wept, tears of sorrow & anguish.   tears of love & loss.    ( tears of weakness )

3 AM.      the resounding knocks upon voight’s door roused the sergeant from sleep.    it’d been one hell of a long day---the flesh wound a pain in the ass.   this was the last thing he needed.    some punk looking to settle a score?    hank was in no mood.   one armed he cocked his trusty shotgun, and inched closer to the door.
