have you considered her today? now you have
when the servant meant to help save you hits you with the thousand yard stare when you ask before going back to snarking at gilgamesh
"Wouldn't you do the same?" The Caster muses politely. "Would you destroy this world to save your own?"
The caster’s earlier amusement at their previous interaction was no forgotten and were the query different in origin Saver would have surely been swift to answer. Surely a deadpan remark would be made about regarding the polite tone he tried to use now.
Yet the question given draws white noise.
For a moment, the walls, the ground, all of it drops from beneath her and the other servant is no longer before her. What was suppose to be a brief moment of silence, enough to simply process the question and develop an answer stretches onwards. A bronze gaze remain unflinchingly blank.
‘Would you destroy this world to save your own?’ Had that not been the means she had tried once before?
A rose wilted in a crumbling cathedral, a fox choked on blood beneath the weight of torii shinto gates. Their retrainers eaten away by a uncaring computer. It was all direct causality to their action of their timeline. From the timeline she came from it had been something she had done and succeeded, destroying the sevants who had once held her dear simply for the means to survive.
And even further still, she had killed more than just servants. Near, Far, a mountain of bodies, of masters, laid rotting because of a faux human’s desire to simply live. To live... such a simple wish was never one she wanted at the expense of seeing all fall to ruin. Not when it was never for her to have such a right.
"I may have been a ruler but that was because of circumstance. I am not a conquer. I just wanted to save her." The words are chosen with care, tone soft if not for the flatness her expression. "....I would not destroy the world for something that was suppose to be a fleeting thought Caster. I am but a remnant of body meant to decay. "
“What right does one like that have in laying claim to life? All I have ever known is it’s end.”
“Goldie’s been quiet, maybe that’s a good sign for the new year?” Who was she kidding it most certainly was NOT good when it was about Gilgamesh.
