This is really long but what I think is a nice fun read about me.
All this reunion talk makes me think back to a special day . I remember being 18 in the middle of my freshman year of college, I didn't know one thing about being in a band. I had answered a favorite band of mines myspace post to audition as their singer after options became less and less. I lied to my parents having never driven to New Jersey on my own that I was taking the ride with a friend to just see what this audition would be like. I remember each road sign and especially the one that said Berkeley Heights. I pull up to a house on a big hill with a yellow van I had seen many times at shows. Out comes a tall skinny tattooed guy that introduced himself as Itchy. We shook hands and walked up the hill and downstairs to a smoke filled basement where there stood Derek. I sang each and every song off The Dawn. Everything is going well and then I get to dig on this and I flub the key change I sing it higher than it should have been and in my head I thought oh well at least this was fun. When we finish we take a quick ride to meet Dan at his job I sang in his little beat up rav 4 with him and itchy listening closely. With a nod and a hand shake he leaves and itchy and I head back to dereks to get my car. On the way back in that van that would later become my home for 4 years he looks at me and says well kid its yours if you want it we would love to get going with you. I couldn't believe never did I think that that was where my life would take me. I got in my car called my friend mark called my friend pete called everyone else I could think of. I was so excited I got lost on the way home and threw up a few times out of just being so overwhelmed. I went home my parents said if this is what you want and what you love then go for it but don't ever not work as hard as you can on it. Then it became my life my home my heart. Just wanted to share this with you all and give a little insight to what this was and is for me and what this reunion means.
