Orpheus. Thracian poet/musician Born in the Odryssian Kingdom in the city of Bisaltia which belonged to the Bisaltae; a Thracian tribe. Orpheus was known for his ability to ensnare his listeners with his music, something most serious musicians aim for today. Orpheus mainly attracted men to his music, particularly military men; because of this we can speculate the music of Orpheus was not Dionysian in nature, which is commonly known as the music that attracts women. We can conclude that the music of Orpheus had to be more along the lines of classical music composers such as Bach, Beethoven and Mozart.
