They told me I would be pure if I did not have sex, If I didn’t do drugs and didn’t touch a cigarette. They told me we grow up and lose our purity If I wanted to be pure forever, somehow be in the minority,  I would have to stay away from a couple hundred ‘sins’ and maintain integrity. They never once told me that all these things are to do mostly with my skin,  That I could comply and this would all still turn out to be a lie. Had I known that one could be completely pure in this sense  And still have one of the impurest hearts,  I would have committed all the listed sins and still have a peaceful existence.
