The "Lough Neagh neglected doll" is called Megan and she comes with warnings of a curse
AMAZING. So, if you'll indulge me in a little local politics for a moment, the context to this is that Lough Neagh, the largest freshwater lake in the UK - and the source of a large proportion of Northern Ireland's drinking water - is horribly polluted with blue-green algae, agricultural run-off, you name it, it's in the drink. This, and I'll not mince words, because vampires need a good verbal staking, is because some parasite of an Earl who's barely even been to Northern Ireland owns the bed of the Lough, and has profited (e.g. via dredging operations) from letting it get into this state.
It's worth noting that, as well as currently being hopping mad about the state of Lough Neagh, the Northern Ireland public have always been very good at celebrating Hallowe'en, so adding a peripatetic cursed doll to our unique cultural traditions at this time of year is very apt move...

Jamie Dornan on his former band, hitting back at critics and life as a dad

Jamie Dornan has said he 'doesn't regret pulling the string' on the folk band he was in when he was in his early 20s.
The Holywood man was a member of Sons of Jim which released two songs and even performed on morning TV.
Jamie left the band when he was 24, and told Esquire : “My friend and I who I did it with were kind of doing it for fun.
“You don't have a clue if you're looking left or right at that age.
“We were getting that traction and maybe something was going to happen, and I pulled the string. I've never regretted it. I'm still best mates with my friend that I was in it with.”
He added: “I feel like I could have kept being a musician if I was like in Kiss or something and I was wearing a f****** mask....
“But all eyes are on you, and they know it's you. That was uncomfortable for me.”
The actor, who received massive success to date, also explained in the interview how his wife Amelia Warner's work is 'unbelievable'.
Jamie said: “I would never want it to be like ‘The Jamie Show’ because mummy works too, and her work is unbelievable and she's way more talented than daddy."

He added how his three daughters have picked up that their dad's face is everywhere currently.
“It's a bit more explaining to do the older they get... but the weirdness of what mummy and daddy both do. It also is just who we are.
"They're born into it and there's no point in trying to hide it and tell them we're actually insurance people," the Holywood man said.
Also in the interview, the 39-year-old hit back at The Tourist critics.
In the show, Jamie stars as a man who finds himself in the heart of the Australian outback, being pursued by a vast tank truck attempting to drive him off the road.
A cat and mouse chase ensues, with the man later waking up in hospital hurt, but somehow still alive, with no idea who he is.
Jamie said: “You're not invested in a show if every frame of the movie you're tweeting about [it]. Look, f****** put your phone down and look up and watch it and see.
“You can miss s***, particularly if you're just tweeting your angry thoughts about ripping off Steven Spielberg.”
A second series of the show was confirmed back in March.

Jude Hill 'honoured and grateful' to be nominated for Best Actor at the Irish Film and TV Awards
It comes after Belfast gained 7 Oscar nominations, ahead of next month's ceremony

Northern Irish actor Jude Hill has received a nomination for Best Actor in the Film category at this year's Irish Film & TV Awards.
The 11-year-old acting newcomer won international acclaim for his role in Kenneth Branagh'sBelfast, where he plays the main character Buddy.
With the Northern Irish film currently up for an incredible 7 Academy Awards at this year's Oscars, Jude Hill missed out on a Best Actor nomination.
However, this has been put right with the news that the young thespian has been nominated for Lead Actor (Film) at the 2022 Irish Film and TV Awards.
Jude will go up against other Irish stars, including Aaron Monaghan (for the film Redemption of a Rogue), Dónall Ó Héalai (Foscadh), Moe Dunford (Nightride) and Peter Coonan (Doineann).
Belfast received 7 IFTA nominations in total at the IFTAs. These include: Best Film, Best Director (Kenneth Branagh), Best Script (Kenneth Branagh), Supporting Actor (Jamie Dornan and Ciaran Hinds), and Supporting Actress (Caitriona Balfe), as well as Jude Hill's nomination.
Commenting on the news, Jude Hill said: "Thank you Irish Film & Television Awards for this very special nomination. I am honoured and honestly so grateful, it means the world. Congratulations to Ken and my Belfast family for their nominations, so proud of you all!
"Congratulations to all the other nominees on their incredible work."
Jude's manager Shelley Lowry added: "This is wonderful news. All the accolades that the film is getting are wonderful, not only for Jude, but for the rest of the cast and the crew as well, and for Northern Ireland. We're so proud of Jude and Lewis McAskie and the work they've done. It feels like every day there's something to celebrate with this film."
Irish actress and comedian Deirdre O'Kane will host the IFTAs virtually, with an awards event which will be broadcast on Virgin Media One on March 12.

“I’ve been lucky – my career so far, I’ve managed to have a pretty varied number of roles come my way. The Fifty Shades thing in a way, there’s kind of nobody like him [Christian], a one-off unique world and experience, in a way you’re not going to play anyone like him again, which is probably a good thing.
“I think I’ll be dealing with that my whole life [people discussing it]. A million jobs you think you’re changing people’s opinion there’s people who are married to that idea of you as one thing.
"There’s a lot of absurd fan theories about that world and those characters and that Dakota Johnson and I have children together… I don’t know where we keep them. I’ve got three of my own kids to worry about."
Jamie Dornan says he has heard of “absurd fan theories” surrounding the Fifty Shades films, including that he and co-star Dakota Johnson have children together.
Appearing on The Jonathan Ross Show, Dornan, who shares three daughters with his wife, singer-songwriter Amelia Warner, quipped that he already has enough children to deal with.

The Holywood-born actor (39) said he has been bombarded with bizarre theories from fans about his relationship with the actress (32) – and the film franchise that made them household names.
He has previously told how he received a “freaky” collage of pictures of a child from one obsessed fan who claimed he was the father.
Jamie last year said: “Someone saying that it was my kid, and my wife should know that I have this kid who’s seven years old.”
Remember when fandoms collide? It’s good to hear Jamie laugh about the absurdities, but the freaky collage story is funny ack!, not funny haha.
The Hollywood legend said: "It was always my hope that we might be invited to bring Belfast home."
