Part 5 - Scottish Highlands (Fort Augustus & Loch Ness) December 2016
Now it was time for Loch Ness! We stopped at Fort Augustus at the South-West end of the Loch, to see the Caledonian Canal & Locks (this connects Fort William to Inverness).
We also saw with a Benedictine Abbey that incorporates an old Fort. I must admit, it was quite hard to see (and take photos of) the Abbey, because it was one of the rare times on the tour where the sun came out in force! We had to get our sunglasses out for 5 minutes!!
Also, we found Nessie and her baby… I don’t know why everyone finds it so difficult! Alice and I seemed to be the main ones interested in this stop - everyone was back to the bus early, while we had to be called back!
Off we went again, hugging the shoreline to our last major stop of the trip, a cruise of Loch Ness, featuring Urquhart Castle.
