I LOVE ROB FORD! DON'T FORGET THE GREAT AND BENIFICAL WORK HE'S DONE WHILE IN OFFICE!! Minus the drug abuse, Rob Ford has saved Toronto taxpayers millions of dollars and, in his official actions as mayor, he is a saint in comparison to premiers Kathleen Wynne and Dalton McGuinty, who wasted billions of taxpayer dollars. I think Rob Ford has done a great job and has followed his agenda. Ford’s had the most success keeping his promises when it comes to his dealings with the city’s unions. After 2009’s strike, where garbage piled up in city parks, Ford pledged to contract out trash collection across the city and get tough on the rest of the unions. He is substantially expanding the subway network. All this was to be paid for with existing provincial funding, and finished by 2015. Ford slashed councilors’ office budgets. He then dissolved the board of Toronto’s public housing corporation, the largest in North America, whose buildings were rampant with criminal activity and bedbug infestations. He later fired the head of the Toronto Transit Commission, which had sunk into ineptitude, and replaced him with an Brit dedicated to customer service. Additionally, Ford has also managed to flatline city expenditures while revoking a much-loathed $60 annual vehicle registration fee.Ford eliminate two new taxes introduced by his predecessor. And for the “gravy train” of government waste.... He’s succeeded in eliminating a municipal tax on vehicle registration. Ford did reduce the expense budgets available to councillors, saving about a million hypothetical dollars. And he did strengthen the “whistleblower protection” available to city staff who report wasteful practices. Ford’s now saying that he’ll try to reduce that tax by 10 per cent this year. However, he may have a problem with some personal demons that he should deal with, for the sake of his family. I hope Mr. Ford can figure all this out and come back to the city with his zest and his “get it done” attitude. That is what Ford Nation is all about. At any rate..
