( ・⊝・∞) || It was certainly freezing, but now that she lived in a city complete with modern buildings and bustling people, the cold had become more of an inconvenience than a life-or-death matter. It was for this reason precisely that Hiyoko had decided to train herself to resist the chill! After all, her ancestors had survived the ice age!
But so many people in this city were so kind – she’d forgotten that – that one denizen had noticed the telltale rattle of her teeth (more training was required), and saw fit to help. Hiyoko starts when he taps her shoulder.
A fluffy knit jumper is presented to her, along with a sort of misguided attempt at altruism. Hiyoko smiles, surprised. She doesn’t need it…but it sure looks nice!
“How bold! Can I really have this!?” The young lady lifts the sweater, pulling it gently this way and that, letting it warm her hands and arms, “It looks really well-made…! Are you sure you don’t want it?”
Well, if he’s going to insist on giving her a gift, she’ll have to return the favor. That’s the barter system! Hiyoko reaches into her own rucksack and produces an almost uncannily large wolf pelt…
She lifts it toward him. “Here! You’re so tall and skinny, so you must get cold easily. I bet the wind blows harder up there!”
“ ...bold? “
“ Well-made or not I did say you can, I’m not going to eat my words now. “
What kind of person would he be if he were to do that. The shrill screech of the teeth had ceased as well, no more cold shivers running along his back either... She looked whole a lot cozier now, there was no reason to change that.
It wasn’t like he was going to wear that anyway.
A confused frown fell on his face as the girl suddenly pulls out the pelt. She’s offering it for him? He wasn’t sure if he wanted to wear something like that. Frankly speaking it was kind of tacky. It’d look awful on him wouldn’t it? But how to go about declining though...
He was shivering a little but that kind of thing would make people look at him weirdly.
“ Huh? “
“ ...uh, I’m not particularly in the need of it, I think... That looks more expensive than the jumper. “
