Week 5

I already had a blog on tumblr with my own domain, which I also use as a contact page. The benefit of using tumblr is that everything you post there has a chance of going viral. You can get reblogs which means that your post will be featured on other blogs and shown to their followers.
When searching the internet for good portfolios, I came across this article by Andrew Price at http://www.blenderguru.com/how-to-make-a-successful-portfolio-or-demoreel/
The article took up some important points of what makes a good portfolio. It also contains links to other portfolios, and one in particular has been a huge inspiration to me, the portfolio of Andrée Wallin (http://andreewallin.com/portfolio)
These points was my focus when finding a theme for my portfolio:
a one page portfolio (preferably in categories according to the assignment though)
simple design
a back to top button
about page
and contact form
I ended up using the Luomo theme, and I think it fits perfect with my criteria. (http://pixelmoxie-luomo-muted.tumblr.com/)
The portfolio turned out just as I wanted, and it is very easy to navigate. I've also added the option to download the finished files for some of the projects (a tip I got at Animex 2013.) The files are watermarked to make it easy to refer back to me. Now that the portfolio page is nailed, it comes down to the quality of the work, which is arguably not that bad. There is of course room for improvement, but the quality of the work is over all good.
