*Busts through the wall* ANNI!!! I NEED YOU TO TALK ABOUT THE BLORBOS (Daniel and the King)!! I'M HYPERFIXATING ON THEM BECAUSE OF YOU!!!
*Patching up the Wall*
Well, if you insist!
Thereās a book called What the Bible Really Says About Homosexuality by Daniel A. Helminiak.
You can guess from the title what itās about... Thereās a section in the book discussing Daniel and what eunuchs were in the past. For example, eunuchs were sometimes considered a third gender due to the fluidity of what a man could be considered during that time. And of course, thereās the implication that if a king had a large harem of eunuchs, it often suggested the king liked men. For instance, sultans like Muhammad al-Amin had male harems, and it was so obvious that al-Aminās mother had female suitors dress as men in the hopes that al-Amin would show interest.
Back to Daniel: in the book, the author points out a specific word in the latin version of the story of Bel and the Dragon. The text says Daniel was the kingās favorite companion. While the word ācompanionā means āfriend,ā culturally, it could mean something more than that. Of course, this doesnāt mean that if Roman men called themselves ācompanionsā they were always romantically involved, but it is oddly specific that the Latin text uses that particular word. Considering Daniel was a eunuch and the kingās favorite āroommate,ā it does seem pretty suspicious.
That said, Iād take Helminiakās interpretation with a grain of salt since they didnāt provide any sources. Still, I really like the idea... š
Also, if this were an omegaverse, Daniel would be an Alpha. Yes, heās still castrated, and Darius would also be an Alpha. "But wait Anni! Didnāt you say before that both of them were bottoms?!" Oh yeah? Alphas can also be bottoms. Fight me! >:)
he dripped for our sins ššš #sad
Caiaphas and Annas
I give to you fanart of Caiaphas and Annas from Jesus Christ Superstar 1973!! I obviously ship them, their dynamic is evil married couple.
The illustration is a direct reference to the song "This Jesus Must Die" (give it a watch, it's incredible)
I love their portrayal in Jesus Christ Superstar 1973 (as a retelling of the biblical narrative and not considering the real historical events). It convey their strategic thinking and worries concerning their own power, which are shown in the book of John.
Hope you like the drawing! If you have anything to add or comment, please don't feel reluctant to share it <3
