The blackbird (lat. Turdus merula).

This little bird possesses a singing talent that rivals that of a nightingale. But here’s something interesting: in cities, birds often try to sing louder than the background noise. This requires a huge amount of energy, and most importantly, birds’ bodies have their limits. So… they change their pitch. The frequency range of urban noise usually does not exceed 2 kHz. That is why city blackbirds use higher and more prolonged notes than their rural counterparts 🎶🐦‍⬛

Pile 1: Death, Knight of Wands, The Magician
