When I look at people, I wonder what they think about. I wonder what dreams keep them up at night. I wonder what memories they cannot escape. I wonder if they think about the first time they had sex, if they’ve ever had sex or if they’ve ever been in love. I wonder if they are close with the parents or if their parents are even still alive. I can’t help but to wonder about their souls, the delicate little force that lives within us all. I wonder if my mind wanders as a way to protect myself. A sort of external screening of the hidden internal, so that I can try and never get hurt again.
