questions and stuff

1) Last TV Show you binged watched on Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc? With everything going on lately I needed some fun so I had a nice little Gravity Falls bingeathon. 2) Nerdiest Celebrity Crush? All the appropriate childhood loves: Christopher Reeve as Superman, Harrison Ford as Han Solo, Raúl Juliá as Gomez Addams, and Kermit the Frog as himself.
3) Favorite children’s show you shouldn’t love as an adult? There was definitely a time in my early 20s where I was quiet about my love for She-Ra and Jem and the Holograms. It didn't last long, I'm back to being loud about it. 4) How do you feel about Unicorns? They are lovely but there's too much upkeep involved. 5) Favorite type of cake/cupcake? Cheesecake/yellow cupcake with chocolate buttercream and possibly sprinkles. 6) Favorite book when you were a teenager? Forever... by Judy Blume, The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice, and, of course, X-Men: The Asgardian Wars. Inferno was also pretty loved. 7) Favorite Smell ex fresh cut grass, waffles, etc? New baby smell. Clearly evolutionary incentive but still wonderful. 8) Favorite Holiday? Halloween, probably. Of course, now that my son is older and may not be as into it that might change. 9) How do boys with tattoos make you feel? Meh. I don't mind either way. I'm 39, I've seen a lot of unfortunate ink but there's some pretty nice stuff on some pretty pretty men. I like it on the ladies as well... 10) Favorite type of shoe? Creepers, all day, every day!
I've been tagged in these a couple times before but this is the first one I've ever actually done. Please don't be offended if i didn't do yours, I'm usually secretive and lurky.
Anyway, I'm going to tag dirtworshiper74 and nohomenoplace

I feel the same way, actually. Would love to see them together, but that particular storyline’s already been done.
Yep. If it happens, awesome. Hell, it'll get my money anyway AMIRITE!? But it seems like a step back in careers for both of them, not a step forward. *shrugs*

God, YOU WANT GOOD OMENS WITH THEM TWO? I LOVE YOU
I've loved that book (and the author) for a looong time. Those characters (and both actors could easily play either part) are almost frighteningly tailor fucking made for them.
Ten Books

Rules: In a text post list ten books that have stayed with you in some way. Don’t take but a few minutes, and don’t think too hard - they don’t have to be the “right” or “great” works, just the ones that have touched you. Tag ten friends, including me, so I’ll see your list. Make sure you let your friends know you've tagged them.

question time
(I almost never do these, but IDK, one of the questions cracked my shit up this time. Anyone who just likes these questions should feel free to run with this even if I didn't tag you.)
Rules:
Always post the rules

thelocaleamidstthestars tagged me and asked: 1.) In your opinion, what is your greatest strength? Resilience. I'd say intelligence but that's a two-edged sword.
2.) Alternately, what would you say is your greatest flaw/weakness? I'm immoderate about anything I take seriously at all and it leads to workaholism, insomnia, occasional disastrous rabbit holes and a generally unbalanced life. Or I'll get into defense against myself mode, go into a long inert drifting period and lose considerable time to zone-out, which is worse.
3.) If you could live within a fantasy world - including but not limited to books, movies, TV shows, video games etc - which would it be and why? If that question were serious I'd have to consider it for like a month solid. Sigh. Terre d'Ange is tempting.
4.) Who is your idol? Who do you strive to emulate in everyday life? Just other people I see being effective in ways I'm not yet as effective in my line of work, really. I don't think in terms of role models.
5.) If you were a character, what would you like your theme song to be? Alison Krauss, "Take Me for Longing" or PJ Harvey "50-Foot Queenie" depending on the genre/plot twist.
6.) Would you rather have shark arms or bear legs? I.e, forearms are live sharks that can survive out of water, and are somewhat trained. Or your lower legs are fused (think melted candle) on to the top of two docile bears, who won’t attack people, but who don’t particularly like each other? Bear legs. For some reason, that reads like a not completely unfamiliar situation. *buries face in hands* Shark arms is right out, because then I can't do shit with my arms, which constitutes a whole separate catastrophe, even aside from the scary animal control issue, itself further exacerbated here by oceanic horror.
7.) Any peculiar hobbies or habits? Nothing that's not potentially identifying, alas.
8.) What is the best insult in your repertoire, or what is the best insult you have ever been subjected to? After I broke up with the first guy I was ever engaged to he sent me an email that opened, "Dear Solitary, Poor, Nasty, Brutish and Short," and I died laughing so hard that I forgot to be pissed.
9.) What period in history had the best fashion, in your opinion? I'm partial to the 1870s and the 1920-30s.
10.) I stole this question from a job application that I recently filled in because it seemed so ridiculous. Give an example of a time when you “sprinkled a bit of stardust onto somebody’s day”. And that is a direct quote. I puked in someone's office wastebasket once.
11.) What is your favourite feature? I have great forearms.
My questions:
1. Name one of your favorite poems.
2. Who or what is after you?
3. If you could have either the power to teleport anywhere on the planet (along with your clothes, one other person you're touching with intent to transport, and anything the two of you can carry) OR the power to turn back time by five minutes, which would you choose?
4. Is there anything that reliably calms and soothes you? What?
5. If you were a cocktail, what would it be?
6. What's your dream job?
7. What book are you currently reading?
8. What's the best single thing you've ever had in your wardrobe?
9. If you had to wear either a propeller beanie or thick rubber gloves everywhere for a month, which would you choose?
10. You win an all-expenses-paid adventure vacation. You can go on a science-and-wildlife icebreaker cruise to the Antarctic, or you can join a Bedouin camel train through the Sahara from Morocco to Timbuktu. Which do you choose?
11. Is there a first name you'd rather have been given at birth than your actual first name? What's your dream name?
Umm...what are we gonna do about the super bowl? I'm barely hanging on today (thanks for the shock blanket!!!), but I just...I'm not sure how I can handle it after Donmar's little "surprise treat." I was really counting on a break between the Jaguar teaser and the full commercial...*le sigh*
I’m sure there’s some evil little marketing elf, gloating over his recipe for “Ovary Smoothie” —- blend in a little Tom, add some more, chunk up some Jaguar, blend that in, add a couple of rope-skips, stair climbs, and frappe that shit with the tears of a million fangirls. Serve ice cold with a twist [of a knife. in the heart].
If you got random hate today, ask me and I'll send you some random love
Because random hate is bad and needs to be squashed by random love. Just ask, I got plenty of good stuff to say to you. My ask is open!
