Today I am going to be chatting to you about a product from Revolution I have had A LOT of requests to check out. As always when I get a request for anything Revolution my eyes light up like a christmas tree! 

So today I am going to be chatting you through the new Revolution Pro Blur Stick Plus Primer, £11.99. This product was designed in  collabartion with Tiktok star Julie Kay @imjuliekay, it has been a viral hit and honestly I see people using it all the time on my for you page all the time (my tiktok is @chanell_q93 if you care). Now this is a new version of the orignal Blur Stick Primer released last year but with some new treates to increase performance on the skin.

This primer is desgined to blur your pores and create the perfect smooth facebase for makeup. This upgraded version not only blurrs your skin like before but it has an extra boost of skin loving vitamins in the formula to help treat and hydrate your skin while you’re wearing it. It also has a lovely watermelon scent which I love and leaves your skin looking demi matte with a natural glow. This product has a mix of Vitamin B5, Vitamin C, and Vitamin E to leave the skin feeling healthy & nourished while blurring your pores. While this product has given my skin so much treatment with each use I also find it so fun to use as a product and a lot of people wondered about application of the product. To use the product you simply twist the base of the product and swipe onto the skin , it’s really that easy and yet it transforms your skin. This product is also multipurpose and can be used by itself, or can be used to prep, prime and refine pores prior to makeup application.

Milk Makeup Blur Stick Matte Primer

If there’s one thing that I have been consistent with on my blog over the years, it’s my hatred for primers. I rarely wear a primer under my makeup and I have made my reasons quite clear. But if you’re new here (or you don’t religiously follow my posts), I’ll state them again. First, I feel like they always block my pores and make me breakout. Second, I rarely find they actually do what they are supposed to do, whether that be making my makeup last longer or helping my pores appear smaller.

However, I have been dying to try out some products from Milk Makeup. The brand has really taken off ever since they launched at Sephora and the line just looks so darn cool. So I happily tried out the Blur Stick Matte Primer with an open mind. 

Let’s start with the (small list of) negatives first. I’ve never liked stick primers because I feel like it’s not a good idea to be rubbing the stick directly on your face each time and gathering up bacteria. The whole thing just seems really unhygienic to me. However, I must admit it does feel nice and quick to just quickly swipe the stick along my T-zone and up and down my cheeks and then gently pat in the product with my fingers. The second negative is that this primer is $43. Why are primers so darn expensive. What makes this $43?! I have trouble paying over $40 for a foundation, let alone a primer. But hey, even I must admit the price is almost worth it. 

So yes, I do like this primer. I know, I’m just as surprised as you are. For starters, the Blur Stick is silicone-free and oil-free. Praise the lord!! I hate those silicone feeling primers. They just make my skin feel so yucky and sticky and heavy throughout the day. I avoid them like the plague. On the contrary, this one is so lightweight, I can’t feel it on my skin at all. It’s amazing for filling in pores and fine lines so my skin looks smooth. In addition, it leaves a nice matte finish but still allows my skin too look glowy when I put my regular foundation over it. It just helps to keep any excess oil at bay. 

So, I think I have made it quite clear that I am a fan of this primer. I don’t know if it’s totally changed my opinion on whether I actually need a primer or not for my everyday makeup, but I’ll definitely continue wearing and enjoying this one. Would I repurchase it? Probably not. But if you’re the type of person who can’t live without a primer, you would probably repurchase it. Just saying.
