wallace in s1 not knowing the sound of crickets and bodie in s2 not knowing that the radio stations are different outside the city bc neither of them had ever left baltimore before :(

There’s a little running thread in Bodie’s characterization that I like where he tends to be interested in nature and science. Examples:

Tunes the radio back to A Prairie Home Companion when he’s driving

Recalls his sixth grade science class teacher and field trip (admittedly not positively, but still, I’m pretty sure it’s the only thing he ever mentions from school)

Watches Animal Planet (I think the only TV he ever mentions watching) and is taken with the idea of fishing in the Caribbean

And of course, “this is nice” at the arboretum
