6 & 13?
6. Was there anything you meant to read, but never got to?
The year isn't over! There's still time! But probably John Fowles' The Magus.
13. What were your least favorite books of the year?
Including only books that I finished, here are the ones lowest on the list:
Madeline Roux, The Book of Living Secrets
Kirthana Ramisetti, Dava Shastri's Last Day
Alexander Delacroix, Heart of the Impaler
Deborah Goodrich Royce, Ruby Falls
Dizz Tate, Brutes
Nortington and Williams (eds), Fit for the Gods (Greek mythology adaptation short stories)
O'Brien and Abdelhadi, Everything for Everyone
🌸!
I love the smell of rain and wet dirt because there is something very soothing about those smells. One of the reasons why I water my plants at night because the whole house just smells like wet earth. And the smell of rain reminds me of being on the bus, tired, but relieved to be on my way home. I'd open the the window so I could smell the sprinkles going over the grapevines and the wind would push my hair back.

i just scrolled through your blog and it’s so pretty! your aesthetic is gorgeous. also this is such a random thing to remember but i’m obsessed with how you write “happy bird day” instead of “happy birthday”. birds fuckin slap lmao
I don't remember how old I was when I saw The Pagemaster. Around 5 or 6 maybe? But the beginning scene where the colorful ceiling paint drops and turns the world cartoony gave me nightmares for years!
Oh my GOOOOD The Pagemaster was one of the more like...Singularly Formative pieces of media for me lol. My first exposure to moby dick... I love The Pagemaster but yes the ceiling paint columns were scary as a child.
bogfox replied to your post: imagine you’re at dinner with all your best...
