BOLICE IN MYTH?!? MAYBE! (Delusional MOTM Theory)

If you’re a crazy Myth of The Machine theorist like me, you’ve probably been keeping an eye for any foreshadowing or hinting outside the comic. Well, recently a poem was posted that was in relation to Boris that had me jump to some assumptions about Boris’ past.

Here it is if you haven’t read it yet

The poem is about Boris from an outside POV of someone who once saw him as dangerous, but quickly learns when meeting him that he’s anything but. Events happen that I still don’t have much of an idea about, but the person eventually kills someone and runs away in fear of his reaction and words.

As a Bolice shipper and huge Alice Angel fan, I immediately jumped to this person being Alice.

Proof of it being Alice is the language being used in the poem with things like “talons” and “flying”. Talons alone could be Bendy or like half of all Myth characters, but the flying part implies wings…and since there aren’t bird characters I can think of being in Myth tied to Boris, Twisted Alice having claws, and implying wings of some kind, Alice being an angel leaves her the #1 candidate.

Still not convinced? Well, how about we look into their relationship.

While you would originally think of Bendy since he’s the closest to Boris and the lines about being trapped and escaping together, there are some VERY romantic lines that allude to them being in a romantic relationship, or at least the speaker loving Boris romantically.

The lines of “Yet when our eyes met, warmth I had felt. Your large clawed hands cause me to melt. Those teeth speak words only lovers could hear. Those eyes so piercing were nothing to fear.” Has A LOT of romantic language. It could even imply they were actively in a romantic relationship, or were at least super close.

As for the last chunks, it includes lines about the speaker using their “talons” to kill someone or something to keep Boris safe, clearly understanding how he could never bring himself to hurt anyone even to save himself.

However, the speaker knew Boris hated killing, and “flew away” (ran away) in fear of his “bark” (words). I suspect they either ran away immediately after their deed in fear of Boris’ words.

The long and short of this theory with some added headcanoning is this:

After Bendy left, Boris was alone. He caught the attention of an angel named Alice, who was hesitant about him at first. However, after meeting, she learns more about him and falls for him, the two either becoming romantic partners or “close friends”. She knew he could never kill to save his life, and vowing to protect him, SHE could instead. One day, she DOES end up killing someone or something to save Boris, but after seeing his reaction, she runs away in fear of his words. She knew what he was like, and likely assumed immediately he would never forgive her for what she did. She couldn’t bear the rejection, so she ran away before he could. Perhaps this is why Boris isn’t able to make friends or anything: He DID have someone, but they ended up abandoning him.

The boundary clay

One of the distinct features of the boundary between the Cretaceous and the Tertiary (paleogene) in the geologic record is found in this photo. Sandwiched in the middle of this section, you see what is called the “boundary clay” layer.

66 million years ago at the end of the Cretaceous, a rocky asteroid hit the Earth off the shore of the Yucatan peninsula. Near the site of the impact, rocks were tossed around by enormous waves creating tsunami-caused deposits several meters thick in places like Cuba.

Away from the impact site, a variety of other things happened. The ash from that impact blotted out the sun and took years to rain out, causing rapid and catastrophic shifts in the climate. The change in climate caused changes in rock types that appear and then, in some places, suddenly disappear, as you see here. Many things died in the time window represented by that small layer, but after the catastrophe was over, sedimentation returned to mostly what it was doing pre-impact.

This rock comes from an exposure of the boundary in Wyoming. One of the distinct characteristics of this extinction is that the boundary clay is enriched in elements that aren’t abundant in the Earth’s crust. When the Earth formed, many elements sank along with iron metal and sulfide into the Earth’s core, depleting the surface layers of those elements. One of those elements, Iridium, is enriched by a factor of 1000x in that layer relative to the rocks around it; measurement of that iridium anomaly was the key step in realizing that these global boundary clay layers had to be caused by an impact.

There are many mass extinctions in Earth’s history and the Cretaceous is not the biggest. However, it is the only one we can tie fairly directly to an impact. The end-Permian extinction was bigger; many more species died and life took ~10 million years to recover from that calamity, but so far there is little to no evidence of a similar “boundary clay” layer or similar chemical fingerprints of an asteroid impact associated with any other extinction. The K-Pg boundary extinction thus may be a unique event in Earth’s history, at least over the last 500 million years.

Quando recebera aquele bilhete, rapidamente o menino percebera quem haveria lhe enviado tal. A letra presente no envelope denunciava sua autora. A cada palavra que o Son lia, o seu sorriso se tornava mais largo. Sem dúvida que Alice era uma das pessoas que ele jamais iria querer que se machucasse, e se fosse preciso, ele daria o mundo só para conseguir protegê-la. Ele pegou num pequeno pedaço de papel e rabiscou: “ Aqui o único anjo é tu, Licinha. E eu é que te agradeço por ter aparecido na minha vida, sim? “ — ele fechou o papel o colocando num envelope endereçado à mais nova.

Apesar de amar ficar deitado na sua cama durante várias horas, naquela manhã o Son se sentia incapaz de ficar dentro daquelas quatro paredes. A ansiedade de um novo ano letivo se fazia presente em cada pequenina célua de seu corpo, e Bonhwa não conseguia deixar de pensar no que esse novo ano poderia lhe reservar. Não que o menino tivesse medo, porém ele não poderia negar que se sentia ansioso pelas amizades que poderia criar. Ou talvez fosse apenas o simples fato de o garoto saber que naquele ano poderia finalmente ingressar na equipe principal de quadribol. E por mais idiota que fosse aquele maldito sentimento, ele não conseguia deixar de sentir aquilo. Era como se o nervosismo estivesse entranhado em seu sangue.

O caminho até à estação de comboios foi feito em silêncio pelo loiro, especialmente porque ele não sabia o que poderia falar. O nervosismo parecia calá-lo, ou até mesmo bloqueá-lo. Um sorriso surgiu em seus lábios assim que suas íris âmbar poisaram na porta mágica do expresso que o levaria para Hogwarts. Após, o que Bonhwa jurou ser longos segundos, o garoto se despediu de seus pais e adentrou no comboio que o levaria de volta para aquela que seria sua casa nos próximos meses. Ele percorreu todos os corredores daquele comboio buscando um lugar vazio, contudo sua atenção fora chamada quando ele vira um garotinho tentando “roubar” o lugar a uma primeirista. O Son rolou seus olhos e se aproximou do outro tocando em seu ombro. --- “ Tu não tem vergonha, não? “ --- atacou de imediato o sonserino, que por ventura era de seu ano. --- “ Deixa ela sentar aí, afinal tu sabe onde procurar seus amiguinhos, não é mesmo? “
