made my 1st ever bone pendant!!! I found the skull piece while hiking and I'm actually working on cleaning up a deer skull I found the same way. it is sealed with modge podge since that's an affordable sealer, if anyone has tips for getting roots out of a skull I'd really love them since the deer skull I'm working on was partially in dirt and has roots in the cranial cavity.

Handcarved leaf face necklace

The pendant and bead made of antler which has different natural textures. Material: elk antler. No animal has suffered. Deers and elks shed their antlers yearly in late winter and begin to grow a new in spring. Sizes: height 2 inches = 5 cm width 0.86 inches = 2.2 cm

Fantasy face pendant

In 1979 UW-La Crosse archaeologists conducted a survey to locate sites in the vicinity of La Crosse. The area was a major center for prehistoric cultural activity, especially in late precontact times. There was a sense of urgency because La Crosse and Onalaska were experiencing extensive urban sprawl.

One of the locations identified was the Sand Lake site north of La Crosse. This bone pendant was recovered from a hearth exposed by plowing at the site. Bone pendants have been found at a number of late precontact Oneota sites in the La Crosse area.
