watching bones again in 2025 is like. oh wonderful characters. horrible fatphobia. racism. badass autistic people making up most of the show's characters. the fact that they're all autistic is never acknowledged. copaganda and ridiculous nationalism. nuanced discussions about religion and atheism and science and love and compartmentalizing. stereotyping of so many groups of people up the wazoo. cool science. the system is rigged against us. the system is honest and true and fair. sex positivity. kink negativity. yearning. bugs are cool. everyone is traumatized. she works with bones and her nickname is bones, and booth is in love with her.

Rewatching bones is weird bc hodgins crazy conspiracies aren’t that crazy anymore, like hodgins will be like “yo the government isn’t helping people and are all rich assholes who say they want to help to stay rich whilst everyone else get poorer” and everyone around him will call him crazy. But I’m here watching from a third person perspective from the other room behind a glass wall and all I can do is bang on it and scream he was right but no one can hear bc it’s a fucking tv show.

Like no booth the government starting wars isn’t taboo anymore girly it’s fucking true they do it all the time.

I think Bones is the only show where i ship all of the canon straight ships and i think its because all the men are pathetically in love with their wives. they all become incredibly useless without their respective women and i really appreciate that in a man.
