93. “It’s a real shame nobody asked for your opinion.”
The door slams in Jim’s face. He’d been expecting it, somewhat, but it still hurt. He rings the doorbell again.
Richard opens the door again, only wide enough to peek out of. “Go away,” he says firmly.
“I just want to talk.” Jim hates the way his voice sounds so broken, even after all the practice he’d had.
“Jim, it’s been three years. We don’t want to talk to you anymore.”
“I can be back now, though. I want to be back,” Jim pleads. He leans against the door to prevent the other from shutting it in his face again. “I’ve missed you, both of you.”
Richard is quiet for a moment, and for that fleeting moment he thinks he might have a chance.
“It’s a real shame nobody asked for your opinion. We don’t want you back,” he says. Richard disappears from the opening and the door is shoved shut once more, even despite his weight against it.
Jim rings the doorbell again, but this time there is no answer.
7. “You did what?!”

He doesn’t like to answer his phone during work hours, but it’s Jim and he didn’t have any appointments for the next half hour. He picks it up after the second ring. “Hey.”
“I need your help,” Jim says, sounding a bit breathless.
“Don’t tell me you got hit by a car again.”
He can practically see the scowl directed at the phone. “Don’t be an idiot, I’m fine. My brother’s arm might be broken,” he says quickly.
“You did what?!”
“I didn’t do anything. Not directly, at least.”
Sebastian rubs the bridge of his nose. “If I know you, Jim, it’s always your fault.” He sighs, then continues, “Which brother?”
There’s a pause before Jim replies that doesn’t bode well. “Have you ever worked on a deer before?”
“You’re going to be the death of me.”
“You’re the one that decided to stick around even after I told you to fuck off. You brought this on yourself.”
He laughs at that. “I suppose I did. If you can get your brother here in the next, say, ten minutes, I can do what I can for his arm.”
“See you soon, darling,” Jim says, hanging up before Sebastian can get another word in. He can hear the relief in his tone, and Sebastian knows that in his own strange way it meant thank you.
He shakes his head, then goes to gather what he needs.
12. “Say it!”
(I struggled with this one, whoops)
Sebastian loops an arm around his waist, pulling him close. In any other circumstance, Jim would hate the blatant physical affection, but in the privacy of their flat he can’t bring himself to shove him away.
“I don’t understand why you can’t just say it,” Sebastian says. He presses his nose into his hair, and already Jim regrets not pushing him away.
“I can’t,” he says simply, though he knows it won’t be answer enough.
“You run your mouth at times, you can say anything you want. I’ve heard you say it to manipulate your clients, so just say it.” If Jim didn’t know better, he would have thought the other was begging.
“Say it?!” he asks incredulously. “I can’t just say it! It’s not who I am.” Saying it would make it real, would make the very humanity he’d denied for so long an actual part of him.
He feels Sebastian sigh. “I know,” he says after a moment. He presses a kiss to the base of his neck and releases his grip on him. “I still love you, though.”

to be fair their group had no knowledge of the truth before he was confronted, and they sounded super pissed and disbanded the group afterwards
