November 2025 writing challenge
I've written something for every day of November, and some bonus fics besides :D over 20k words total!
I combined the prompts for the different November events' prompt lists that I was taking prompts from to have them all in one place: black's the drabble challenge which I took the list pic from, brown are for comfyvember, in red I added trope flip fic prompts, and poly ship prompts are blue!

November challenge • all of my challenge fics • fandom overview
I want Boromir to have lived so bad. Like Faramir makes sense to be steward, he is canonically better at it. But Boromir should have had a (longer) redemption arc. Gotten to chase the hobbits around Rohan, gotten to fight once more for Gondor, gotten to apologise to Frodo and more importantly gotten to see Gondor in peace.
He would have been a brilliant best man for Faramir, an amazing Dad in the future and would have become Aragorn's number 1 supporter.
My headcanon is that if Boromir survived, he fell unrequitedly in love with Éowyn. Unrequitedly because he never tried to pursue her, and she never knew. He stepped aside for the sake of his beloved little brother.
You can pry this angsty take from my cold, dead hands.
Legolas and Gimli meeting Faramir for the first time: My how you‘ve grown!
Faramir:….what the….
Faramir: Boromir! Did you show people baby pictures of me again?
Boromir: I may have shown them the one or other odd one I had on my phone …
Faramir (dread in his voice): How many baby pictures of me do you have on your phone????
Boromir: Remember when I broke my leg badly two years ago?
Faramir: Yes?
Boromir: I used the time to digitise mum‘s old photo albums…
Faramir: …oh no.
Boromir: … and when uncle Imrahil saw what I was doing he asked me if I also wanted the pics he took…
Faramir: Good grief.
Boromir: And then Ioreth mentioned she snapped a few pics of the two of us growing up- mainly because I was so cute you know…
Faramir: Give me strength .
Boromir: Oh and Gandalf too is a surprisingly good photographer.
Faramir ( muttering): I survived the war for this???
Boromir: So yeah I digitised those and put them on my phone. The one where you fell asleep in the spaghetti as toddler is my background, so adorable!
Faramir: Please swear you will never show Eowyn any of those!
Eowyn ( calling from next room) : What do you think is my phone background?
Aragorn: And mine!

Chapter 1
Boromir was holding the Ring on its chain in his hand. Gold shone red under the weak sunlight, and his thumb swept over it with an odd tenderness. There was a strange light in his eyes. “What are you going to do?” Pippin heard himself ask. There was silence for a moment. Then Boromir laughed, sudden and loud and defiant in the still air. He turned and knelt down, and Pippin fought the urge to step back from the wild, angry joy in his face. He kept very still and did not flinch when Boromir took him by the shoulders. “My friend,” Boromir said, the light red on his face and his eyes gleaming fey. “We are going to bring back the sun.”
