Brain-based learning, Projectmanagement and God's Word
I started reading a book, about brain-based learning (it's in german, on amazon). And it is really amazing. How some simple concepts can help so much. The concepts are not really new, but to apply them consciously to learning has a great effect. I am surprised! The major building block in the book is to learn to build associations. So associations can help us to remind stuff. The better the construction of our associations, the more precisly we can re-construct our knowledge.
In the moment I am visiting a lecture on Projectmanagement. And this is a great opportunity to test the new learning tools. But how to associate projectmanagement? Sure I can think of simple situations in my everyday life, but that is not exciting to me. In the moment I am excited about the Bible and how much it can show us. And this is something I am thinking a lot about lately. How I can connect the Word of God with Things that I have to do or learn. So everytime I will read a passage, I starting remembering Things. So how does this apply to Projectmanagement?
God is the brilliantest projectmanager. Every project should have a Vision Statement, so the project members are able to read it again and again to be able to follow it. Because we humans are easily distracted and the goal gets out of sight. The biggest Vision Statement in history: the Bible! So everyone gets to know the goal. Now the projectmanager has to delegate the tasks to people appropriate for the task. God gives everyone a task that he is able to accomplish successfully. First small simple things. So we get to know Him better. He trains us to get to know His expectations, to follow our tasks through and to learn to be able to take more responsibility. And if we do a mistake He takes charge of it, thank you Jesus! He motivates us!
6 And he said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment. 7 The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son. 8 But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.” (Rev 21:6-8)
He says to us, to focus not on problems but on opportunities.
2 Count it all joy, my brothers, [1] when you meet trials of various kinds, 3 for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. 4 And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. (Jam 1:2-4)
He says to us how to use Time and not just waste it with unvaluable stuff. And Jesus showed us personally how to start something and follow it through, no matter how painfull.
This is how I can excitefully remember Projectmanagement! :D
Update: I found an interessting blog post that gives an overview of my intention.
