Media showing supportive after Louis rude interview not respecting his boundaries on grief - 03.02

Lights Up! She's out and she's big! (that's what my date said, happy Coming Out Day, etc...) After much tease up and lead up, about an hour before the anticipated midnight Eastern release time we finally started to get a glimmer of confirmation, which quickly turned into being buried alive(ish) in a flood of Harry content, like probably as much as the previous six months combined my god. Merch announcement! Posting new pics! Video link! New profile pics and headers everywhere! The single artwork! And then the song and video came out. The pop number, seemingly a commentary on fame and public persona, is not the sound all the talk of seventies rock influences and Harry's previous music had led us to expect, but after the initial surprise you can find that in there a bit. HSHQ went hard on streaming promotion, the press and radio play are heavy, and lots of social media. The press are loving it, and making much of the Coming Out Day release timing and the shrooms angle. The fans have lots of opinions of course but on one thing nearly everyone is in agreement: who the fuck is in charge of merch and why isn't it us?? The new shirts, which read, "Lights Up: the new single by Harry Styles" are probably selling just fine but they are not well loved. Is it meant to be ironic? Kitsch? Who cares, we just want shirts that say Do You Know Who You Are on the front! (in baby blue please if you're listening.)
Much video analysis, I can't cover it thoroughly here and don't want to, but because it is relevant shortly I will mention that there was a lot of notice taken (very loudly) of similarities to the Kill My Mind video (filmed later), such as the high contrast red lit parts and the motorcycle scenes. On the topic of the motorcycle: four years ago to the day the bears rode a bear sized dirtbike, and about a week ago Louis somewhat randomly liked a picture of a dirtbike. Anywho! Pictures from behind the scenes of the video shoot were posted by everyone who had been waiting til it was allowed and my lord they are all cute af.
The excitement of new music from Harry after so long took center stage, obscuring even something else that's been a long time coming- LP1 news! A photo of an upcoming releases schedule posted to a vinyl collector's blog (they seem to have been focused on the Ariana Grande listing just above it) shows Liam's album slated for release Dec 6! It is listed only as LP1 and shows vinyl and CD release. It's of course possible that it hasn't been announced because it's still subject to change or any number of things but still! Things are happening! I don't know what they are but they are happening! Liam played three acoustic songs in Birmingham today at the hmv store opening, with his Mom and Dad on hand to support. Report from the hmv show: Liam says he saw lots of familiar faces, and the following exchange: fan's boyfriend, "I got dragged here!" Liam, "so did I." Live performance videos of Stack It Up and Polaroid were officially released today.
Though Louis was quiet Team Louis have been active today, with LTHQ and Jordan Green both posting pics from the KMM video, very cool new pics of Louis singing and of the crowd, all starkly red lit. I'm not saying they're deliberately echoing LU visuals but they aren't trying to avoid it! Louis liked the post. WMA also posted a pic of Louis, LTHQ tweeted about streaming KMM, and Stellar Magazine and the interviewer (Bree Player, a larrie) posted about the upcoming feature, out tomorrow! We're told he was asked 28 questions. Miki Davis, the actress featured in the video, posted today from a set: is that Louis in one of the pics? We do not know.
Niall posted beautiful behind the scenes pictures from the NTMY video shoot, and took a fan pic in NYC. An interview from today features him talking about one of the 'relationships that weren't relationships,' specifically Louis falsely announcing at one point that he (Niall) was dating Carly Rae Jepsen. And as tickets went on sale for the Jingle Balls he warned us "if you don't come and see me I don't like you."

We Made It announcement! At last official confirmation is here: Louis' next single is We Made It, and it will be released this Thurs! The announcement is brilliant, overlaid on a double of the original clip that he posted in 2018 and that we've been circulating since. Perfect aesthetic perfect in joke nod to the fans which is perfect for what he's been saying is the song 'for the fans', flawless all around, bravo! The lyrics in the old clip were "I remember those nights, (me with you or being with you), cheap drinks through the whole night" but journalist Bree Player tweeted the lyrics from today's clip, drawing attention to the fact that it isn't actually the same clip and the lyrics are "meet you at your uni" in place of the "me with you" line which is maybe new, or maybe just sounds different in the new version. Cue a lot of discourse for not a lot of lyrics but it has been a slowish day... We'll see what the lyrics (and their context) are soon enough. The song will be debuted on the Sirius morning show Thurs at 8:30 am ET though of course it will first be played at the international listening parties! All of them take place tomorrow though due to the perpetual annoyance that is time zones, not at remotely the same time as each other; the first of the events will be happening in about nine hours. What country will leak info first?? Lay your bets! South America would be traditional but the Philippines have a massive head start timezone-wise so.... Some of the listening party hosts have asked for questions for Louis, as have many others, everyone wants to hear your questions for Louis this week! The most exciting opportunity to grill him is via a Most Requested Live Ask Me Anything which they tell us will be posted Nov 2. All at once this time then? Or will we be getting clips randomly and unexpectedly for months again? cause TBH I'm fine with that. He was also, last but not remotely least, announced as a guest for the Build Series! It's an online in-depth interview series, very serious and respectable. So cool! A few lucky fans will get to attend and sit a few feet away from him in the tiny studio and I do mean a few fans: get ready for a real fight to the death for this one there are gonna be like 30 seats yiiiikes.
Niall arrived back in the UK, went to a Derby match with his dad, posted an morning time not dressed yet dancing in the bathroom to his own song on the radio clip, and went on what seems to have been a successfully incognito trip to a London shopping mall on a weekend afternoon! Nice. He posted a series of pics from Flicker tour bidding the era farewell once again.
Also: interesting chatter out there about Irving Azoff's ongoing battle with the Radio Music License Committee over licensing fees, saying that artists are getting screwed over. It's been suggested that perhaps Harry is choosing not to pursue radio promo (and thus not buy into the payola, etc) in order to support this fight. If so maybe it's working; he's charting, and well, and thus getting radio play even while giving his promo dollars seemingly pretty much all to streaming. Obviously there are an array of things happening with probably multiple reasons of which that is just one piece, but it's an intriguing one.
@breeplayer: tiny snippet from my chat back in september with @Louis_Tomlinson when i pointed out that his 28th birthday will be more significant than his 30th... #HappyBirthdayLouis #Walls

WALLS!!
The Stellar Magazine interview dropped at midnight Australia time bringing with it a very interesting mistake! Louis' album is mentioned by name in the article, spilling the beans on the "one word title" he'd teased: it's called 'Walls.' And at the end of the article it says, 'preorder Walls, the new album from Louis Tomlinson, out Jan 2020.' WELL ALL RIGHT. Obviously you can't actually order it and when the official online version posted later in the day they'd edited it to just say the album was coming Jan but both the release info and the fact that pre-orders are that close is very exciting indeed! Of note: he registered song called Walls last month, which is presumably on the LP. This news that we clearly weren't meant to find out just yet or quite this way kind of stole the show from the rest of the article for sure but the rest is also good! Very cute. Louis muses on how much the fandom hates new things ("they're not mad on change, the fans") and talks about the wardrobe items we won't be seeing again (headbands, red trousers, braces) but that "if I'm on holiday I might try to look hard so I'll probably wear sleeveless tops again," and the interviewer asks about We Made It. Clearly not knowing that she's a full on fan, he's startled by how up on things she is ("fucking hell you're bang on it! I like that.") Yes, he says, he wrote WMI about 2 1/2 years ago, as "a bit of a message between me and the fans… that we made it together." The fans, being bang on it, were sceptical and pointed to the lyric we know about drinking together in the moonlight to say, "uh that wasn't us were you thinking of someone else?"; well we'll find out very soon. On theme to the part of the interview where he talks about snapping back at tabloids and others on twitter ("if you're going to chat shit to me, you're going to get called out") he popped up online this morning- after posting that he was watching a morning sports show he replied to some fans, including one who teased him for saying 'soccer' (it's the name of the show) and accused him of being American now, no longer from Yorkshire, an 'LA boy.' BLOCKED REPORTED DELETED he replied. Well, not quite, but he did cutely threaten to block her. Later a picture surfaced of him and Oli at Heathrow- we're told they boarded a flight to LA this morning.
Niall says, "I have a song out ...and I would love if you would stream it, buy it, call your local radio station and demand they play it." "NTMY needs to be number one on the world! Keep streaming!" says a fan and Niall replied, "darling I couldn't agree with you more." He's retweeting loads of fan replies about their efforts and pitching in himself a bit- he tweeted a radio station who said they were playing it to suggest they should play it "15 times between now and the end of the show." He talked about the guess-what-NTMY-sounds-like prerelease project, saying how unnerving it was that some people were so close. Jameela Jamil tweeted asking why it was considered okay to make men's height an issue and Niall applauded her. 'Ur still tiny tho' tweeted a fan, everyone's really cruising to get blocked today, and Niall and Jameela both snapped back at her. And then he went to see Lewis Capaldi's New York show; Lewis posted a video from backstage warmups featuring Niall.
Liam posted a round glasses selfie captioned "Harry Potter mood" (hmm I have him down as Neville for the dogged loyalty and startling glow up personally but okay) and fan reports place Harry (Styles) around London, at the gym and then later on drinking coffee and laughing with friends while wearing the long gucci coat in the rain and getting into a sports car.
I used to know Bree, personally kind of cuz we texted a few times. Then I became a solo Louie revamped my socials. I still remember she and a couple of her friends used to claim that they have proof about Larry (🙄) and that they're not allowed to say because of NDA (🙄🙄). All of their accounts got deleted or deactivated now, when I went back to check it after they leaked the album name.
Tbh I don’t know that the “leak” was malicious. I think the album was supposed to have been announced by then but things got delayed. The funny thing is that the article mentioned CCME in Madrid, which meant that it was written after mid-September 2019, which meant Bree should have known about any album delays by then, unless something came up suddenly in early October?
And for other things... I am really happy that most people have succeeded in focusing this week on Louis’ album and getting it the success that it deserves, rather than playing fandom games or scoring points. Anyone going to see Louis this week please make sure he knows the album is genius and he is loved unconditionally.
Bree player also leaked the name of the album before it was officially announced right ?
Yes. Bree Player writes for Stellar Magazine in Daily Telegraph Australia, and the album name, Walls, was leaked 12 October 2019, before anyone from Louis’ team had a chance to make an announcement. Bree is also a big Harry fan.
Do you think maybe she got to hear the new song already or that she got to read the lyrics? Isn’t she that interviewer from the frozen magazine cover? Seems hmm but idk
Yes, she interviewed him for stellar magazine (the same magazine that gave us the title of louis’ album and the release date). It’s possible that she did hear the song early. There have been interviewers in the past who have replied to fans about songs before they were released. It’s also possible that she’s just guessing like the rest of us.
