MACGYVER (THE ORIGINAL SERIES) - AUGUST 5, 2025 - SCREENCAPS
MacGyver (the original series), ran on ABC from 1985 though 1992, and starred Richard Dean Anderson, Dana Elcar; with frequent guest appearances from Bruce McGill; Robin Mossley; Elyssa Davalos; Michael Des Barres; John Anderson (portraying MacGyver's grandfather); and Teri Hatcher.
Beginning with MacGyver's season 3, filmed was undertaken in Vancouver, British Columbia, at Bridge Studios. I think this was the first American TV series filmed in Canada at the time.
In 1997, Richard Dean Anderson would return to Canada, and to Bridge Studios, to film 10 seasons of "Stargate SG-1," and to guest star in "Stargate: Atlantis,' and "Stargate: Universe."
From the MacGyver season one episode, "To Be A Man," which guest starred the late Persis Khambatta (as Zia); who portrayed Ilia in''Star Trek: The Motion Picture."
