A little late for postin, but the concert on Sunday was amazing and I have lots to say!
The venue had a few issues with sound and of course I couldn't hear Christie or Sherri that much but it was still a great show. Front row as always! It was great to see Sherri and Stephen better but I need to keep in mind that the front row might not be best for all venues. This was a weird venue too. Lots of room but I felt bad that it wasn't packed.
Eisley had set lists this time and my friend got one. It had Sea King on there and even though they didn't play it, the set was great. I wish I could have heard the vocals better though. My friend realized that Sherri has a different demeanor when she sings bitter songs from The Valley and also I noticed it this time. Those bitter songs are some of my favorites though, like "Mr. Moon" and "Smarter." The new guitarist had a GoPro on her guitar which was so cool!
The Copeland set was very similar to the other ones I've seen (actually same exact setlist when I checked, unless they changed something I don’t remember), but it was awesome as always. Steff did an amazing job on her part in "Chiromancer." (I keep forgetting that I've seen them lots now... Which is unbelievable, along with the amount of setlists I have too.) This time I also got a setlist signed by Aaron, Stephen, Bryan, and Steff!
The best part though was getting to meet and hang out with some band members, including Steff from Tucson who sings in some songs on Ixora. I had met her earlier at one of her shows last year and this time we were there so early we got to hang out with her in line. She is so nice! When we got into the venue she went to go talk to Aaron and then I got to hang out and talk with them. Man, that was great. Aaron recognized me from the Crescent Ballroom show, which was great and I told him I saw the show in North Carolina too. And that was nothing compared to the big smiles and hugs from Stephen again! He recognized me too (but I guess I do wear the same thing to all Copeland shows...). I waited after to grab a setlist and he handed it to me from the stage and ran back around for hugs. He also got his bro to sign it too. He is the nicest! Bryan also gave me a hug too but he is so tall. We also talked a bit with Garron, the Dupree with the long hair. He was very nice and I said I saw them in NC and he said he plays at Cat's Cradle all the time. But he said he has been touring since he was 15! We told him that we like Eisley 2.0 and all the side projects. I think he clarified that Currents was mostly him and Sherri anyways so we should like the new album. Too bad we didn't get to meet Christie and Sherri (they were our goal and we brought stuff for them to sign...), next time hopefully!
One of my favorite shows since it was an amazing show for meeting people and just hanging out! It helps now that we are friends with Steff :) Can't wait to see more of her shows too!
