Adom made a face " Is that true? Hm. I would figure if the Guard is the first to get stabbed, he would have done his job diligently. For what is he getting stabbed for, if not for protecting his King?" Adom had asked. Then gave a shrug " Not that your answer his wrong Bryson. Your life is worth more than mine, to you." Adom offered a grin to the other " I'm just important to the people. I am not important, at all."
With a shrug he listen as the other went on talking then. It was always interesting, hearing Bryson’s views on a monarchy. While no doubt untrue. Adom felt the other thought it was perhaps easy to not be a puppet "Oh, but that's how monarchy's die. Playing the puppet is in our best interests, Bryson." He lift his thumb up to his neck and made a slitting motion "Death is inevitable. Quicker when playing with those that would demand us guide them. The People have The Power." Giving a small laugh then he shook his head "Though I guess that would be hard for even a guard to wrap their head around." Adom said solemnly then.
Looking toward Bryson, he let out a small breath of resign " Let's hope I manage that. But people can be so fickle." As he walked out of the room he heard Bryson pass his order on to another and glances toward the ceiling before looking back ahead of him as he listen to the other follow after him. Of course a little slower do to heavier equipment than Adom had. He could hear the others uniform rubbing and clinking together as they walked after him. A grin spread gently over his lips, his head dropping down slightly as he found it amusing that Bryson rarely would leave his side, and would have probably had some excuse to explain away the others diligence. Adom looked back over his shoulder then " You know, you might just be the only real friend I've ever had, Bryson. You grew up into a better guard than I would have imagined when we were kids."
