Kevin Spacey 30 Days Appreciation Challenge 1. First Kevin Spacey movie I have watched. Swimming with Sharks (1994) Character: Buddy Ackerman My story: I watched only the second half of the film the first time having missed the first. At the time I didn't know who Kevin Spacey was, but I was taken by his performance. The second time I watched the movie I had already watched the Usual Suspects & American Beauty (among other films) so he was one of my favourite actors. My conclusion was I liked Kevin Spacey before I knew his name.

First time director George Huang found it intimidating to direct an actor of Kevin’s caliber, even though he wrote the part of Buddy Ackerman specifically for Kevin. The first time Huang gave him direction was when Guy was first holding Buddy at gun point. He told Kevin to appear more scared. Kevin yelled at Huang: "It's in the eyes, it's in the eyes." | March 21, 1995
