I did a fic exchange recently, Bulletproof, & wrote a lot of fic for it!
in my season three au Kendra is not only haunting the narrative, but came back as a vampire (idk, maybe they buried her fr away so she take a while to come back to Sunnydale travelling only by night) and haunted Buffy for the crime of not only not having avenged her, but having let her killer go free and for given, in a way, her accomplices.
I know usually vampires *don’t care* that they have been killed but I think it would be interesting to see a newly turned vampire being angry for that, but not at the monsters who killed her and who are like herself now, but at the girl who was like her and was supposed to fight with her and for her. (The parallelism with Faith…)
(I also think it is very cool when a hero is Made to compromise between morals/the love for people dead for their holy war vs opportunities to win this war, and I like Buffy and Spike tregue and first almost-amicable in Becoming part II but I think the CONSEQUENCES of the choices Buffy Made her are very little explored morally and thematically, and making Vampire Kendra comes back would have been a good way to.)
And Faith is the one who stake her before becoming part of the evil gang of the Mayor herself. Like Kendra died so Faith become a Slayer and a warrior for good Faith kill Evil Kendra and then becomes Evil herself etc.
In my Au Vampire!Kendra would not have interacted with anyone except Faith and maybe Buffy and the Mayor and Angel, leaving it in doubt whatever she is *really* here and only a ghost/projection of a dead Slayer came to haunt the two surviving of the Slayer line.
like Yeah she’s real but she could as well be a projection of someone’s fear/future/past. Just like Vampire Willow is real in her own way but she is also a projection of both what Willow deep down wants to be (free; powerful; not always the good girl) and what she fears she is deep down and will eventually become in the future for an amount of time (evil; sadistic; self-centered in her hedonism that she previously rejected; uncaring of social norms; drunk on her own power).
thinking about how special their connection is and how ill never feel something as intense ever …
i’m connecting the dots
Faith/Buffy 22
This is. SO OLD. I wrote most of this when you sent this. Last May. May of 2016. Hahahahahhaha… Fuck.
300+
Buffy can’t believe she has to go through another wedding for Anya and Xander.
No offense to her friends, but she sort of liked everyone being as miserable as she was and that they had worked it out again?
Yeah, no…
She has grown to love Anya, but the things she does not need to hear about Xander and weddings are just staggering.
She tenses, ready to strike, when someone presses something into her hand.
Faith raises an eyebrow at her. “Looked like you could use a drink.” Faith pauses, looks her up and down. “Or something else.”
Buffy rolls her eyes and, after a second of hesitation, turns away from the crowd to unscrew the flask’s cap and chug the contents. She pulls a face and hands the flask back.
Faith shakes the empty flask and grins at her. “Not playing around. I like this side of you, girlfriend.”
“I was thirsty,” Buffy tells her with a grimace.
“Think I could find us a nest of vamps or at least a low level demon if we got out of here now,” she says.
Buffy considers it, but as she opens her mouth to answer, a woman she’s pretty sure is distantly related to Xander bumps into her without so much as a feigned apology.
Faith grabs Buffy’s wrist at the same time the woman topples down.
Buffy gets a glance at Faith’s responsible foot before Faith retracts it with an over the top, “I’m so sorry. Didn’t see you there.”
The woman looks like she’s about to make a fuss, but something in Faith’s expression must warn her off because she simply huffs and wanders off to her seat.
Buffy spends a moment staring after her before she smiles at Faith.
Faith’s fingertips send electricity up Buffy’s spine as she skims them up Buffy’s arm. “Quickie in the dressing room?”
Buffy is going to say no. Really, she is. She says, “Absolutely.”
Oops.
Femslash pairing of your choice for the meme!
Okay I’m going to do Buffy/Faith ‘cause I just finished BtVS and oh my god so many feelings.
Who cooks: Buffy unless she’s too tired. Faith burns everything that does not come out of a box.
Who does the laundry and other chores: They split it. Buffy takes care of Dawn and cooks and does dishes. Faith does laundry and cleans up after all the broken things that inevitably populate their apartment (they retired okay, vampires find them, it’s an issue). Incidentally, this is how Xander and Faith become friends again—bonding over fixing Slayer Command. How many children do they have: Not counting Dawn, none. They do, however, have a cat named Bruno who is Faith’s responsibility nad love.Who’s more dominant: Neither, really. Or rather, it varies from ssecond to second. It’s a fight between the two of them, in the end, always has been.Favorite nonsexual activity: Buffy warms a lot to Faith’s preferred mode of relaxation when she gets to go home with her, all the boys staring at them and not daring to make a move on them after that time, a couple months ago, when Faith decided some guy was getting too handsy with Buffy, so she threw him across the room. Also, honestly, when they get too tired to dance, or when their beaten up badly enough that they can’t, their favorite pastime is to find the shittiest, cheesiest movie playing on TV and curl up watching it and pointing out all the product placement and shitty specal effects and times when the actors have clearly forgotten their lines. Double points for vampire/monster movies.Their favorite place to be together: Safe at home with Dawn and Bruno, they’d both answer in a heartbeat. And then they’d be lying because it doesn’t really matter where they’re together as long as they are because they have each other’s back.Any traditions: They join every organization they can because Faith is so fucking happy to be able to put down roots somewhere. What they do for each other on holidays: They both get stupidly campy for Christmas. They do not hand out candy for Halloween. They lock the doors and get a little freaky instead.Where did they go for their honeymoon: They didn’t have one.Where did they first meet: Canon has told us this, so, cemetary.Any pets: I mentioned Bruno already. Eventually they also acquire a long succession of gold fish neither of them can keep alive for longer than a month. All of the boys are named Sid, and all the girls Nancy.
What do they fight over: Everything. All the time. And the nsomething tries to kill them or Dawn doesn’t do well on test or something and they are a united front again.Do they go on vacations, if so where: Faith has an almost encyclopediac knowledge of roadside landmarks and likes adding to her knowledge, so they like roadtrips. Most frequently, they head south, going until they reach some place tropical/beachy enough.
