It’s genuinely crazy how much bs people who keep bugs get from people. The amount of stomping or flamethrower gifs in the instagram comment sections is insane. Like imagine someone’s excited to show you their hamster and you’re like “KILL IT WITH FIRE I HATE ALL RODENTS” everyone’s going to think you’re fucking insane because you ARE. How does this attitude around respecting other people’s pets dissolve when it’s a bug. Grow up.

I really want to get some form of little critter pet. I was thinking like a beetle or millipede, but I've never owned a pet like that before.

I just really want a little creature i can care for and put my love into, but im heavily uneducated.

Does anyone know a good bug pet that is generally easy for beginners?

And does this creature need others of its species to keep it company?

Okay question for the bug community... I'm feeling like I want to get a bug pet (I bonded with a housefly in my local café and it let me touch its head and it used me to rest several times, but I learned they only live for a month tops) and I can't decide what kind of bug I should get... I'm sentimental, so I want smth that lives a long time, and ideally something I can hold. What should I get? Im debating between things like stick bugs, giant beetle species (hercules, rinocerus, stag), mantis, etc. what should I do?
