"you're telling me after all he's done for the the gods won't just give Percy and letter of recommendation?" consider: he runs around for an entire book doing a whole ass quest, and then in the last ten pages a god goes "btw you could have just. asked but thanks man"
do you think cubito philza spends so much time alone because he faults himself for being unable to protect those he loves? unable to stand alone? if he tries to be their protector someone gets hurt, more often than not himself. is that why he's the most comfortable with people who he's sure can take care of themselves? with techno, with fit, with etoiles? in reality, his real weaknesses is his inability to accept or reach for help. he believes he can fix his problems alone, and in a way, expects that the people he views as strong can to. to a degree I dont think he's aware of how this belief intersects with others, as at times he's reassured others that despite their strength, he's there if needed. regardless of intent, however, he instills the need to be strongest, to be able to fix any problem, in his oldest son, and later in chayanne.
average tbs character ends up in several traumatic Situations isn't a statistical error, but Mark Bryant who ends up in Every traumatic situation surely isn't helping

to this day I still think about how grian bought a custom stamp and hired a fucking calligrapher so he could send Iskall a letter in real life inviting him to architechs
HEY LADS I HAVE AN ART BLOG NOW @ayoitswren (<- repurposed from my previous main url)
unfortunately I haven't been posting my art on tumblr as much as I'd like to (especially since I transitioned to primarily traditional art), and I feel like it gets a bit buried on my main when I do post </3
a ton of my art from the last six months is queued, and hopefully I will be more consistent now 👍
