I will say that most people who want to do something in the beginning never take it as seriously as they should or they don't hang around the right people that take anything seriously. I'm not just talking about career wise I'm talking about anything. let's say you wanted to make a career out of McDonald's for example, how serious would you take that or how deep in detail would you get? Would you just dive into the job right away? That's what I'm here discuss. So let's dive in and talk about one thing I know well, and that's filming. Filming is something that comes naturally to me and I love being creative and trying to understand how to tell the story through my eyes and camera lens. How will the audience perceives this camera movement or perceive this color. Can I convey emotion through this sound or through this image. Overall it's about the attitude you have for the craft. If you wanted to be the best at McDonald's for doing what you do you have to get serious and understand what it takes to be the best at that exact craft. What skills do you need to have? Maybe you need to remember what temperature(s) things need to be at. Maybe you need to be able to clean fast maybe you need to be able to transition better. These are just some of the basic entry level skills you need to run to McDonald's. If you're going to do anything yourself like run your own business you're going to need to know how to manage money, be aware of time and manage it, learn from negativity, understand loss and more. The biggest mindset change to me is to not build a fundraiser for yourself. what I mean by that is most people want to build a fundraiser and not a business every time they get about $500-$1000 they don't reinvested in the business, they reinvested in something they wanted to buy. This all plays an attitude because you have to understand that what you're trying to do is very real. The quickest way to lose is to not reinvest in the business. How you can start reinvesting is by surrounding yourself with business people. Start listening to podcasts on people who run business successfully if no-one has a local business in the area. Go to neighboring local businesses and ask them how did they start, why did it take and what speed bumps did they hit along the way? I'm starting up my local videography business and realizing that some things don't come naturally to me. Which is why I'm sharing my journey with you. When you understand what it takes to fully run a business and be able to have fun that's were the excitement comes in. Now I understand you may not want to run everything like finances, scheduling and "BUISNESSNY" things like that. But there are times when in the beginning, we must wear all the hats.
