I didnt give my flag meaning but that isnt to say that it was meaningless and that i chose the colors just cause they looked pretty. (Though flags that do that are fun sometimes its hard to put things into words i get it)

The top stripe is fluidity for all butches. Butch is a fluid identity it means many different things to lots of different people. The second stripe is for transmasc butches. Transmasc =/= to men but there is overlap with trans men and transmasc individuals they both have a place in this identity.

The third stripe is transfem butches. While this is a butchboy identity transfems are welcome in it you can be transfem and a boy or use that word to describe yourself.

The fourth stripe is connection to butch as an identity. Many flags use the white stripe in the middle as an inclusive one for things such as nby people. Mine is cream colored and meant to connect butches as a whole.

The fifth stripe is cis butches. Many cis butches do call themselves men as a way to describe their identity. A butchboy can be a cis women in a similar way that a nby person can label themselves as cis. Gender is complex cis butches are allowed to use my label if they wish to.

The sixth stripe is butches of other orientations butch isnt exclusive to the lesbian community so pan, omni, abro, and every other good faith orientation butch is welcomed.

The seventh stripe is complicated relationships with manhood/womenhood. I think this speaks for itself but many butches in general have complicated relationships with those so it can affect their identity. And those are the meanings of the stripes on my flag! This identity isnt one to be policed because there is no right or wrong way to be a butchboy.

I did take inspiration from the lesboy flag but i was also inspired by these butch flags. I color picked the colors from pictures of sunsets and while i didnt intend it to look or be inspired by the sunset lesbian flag i do like how the butchboy flag turned out because many butches are lesbians and it can be a core part of their identity.
