So was anyone gonna tell me there’s a species of butterfly that enjoys the flavors of rotting flesh or was that something I’d just find out this fine Saturday morning?

Because I love learning and loving sharing what I learn, please meet the Purple Emperor Butterfly.

Apparently There’s this rare butterfly called the Purple Emperor from Great Britain that despite being really pretty -it’s just disgusting. The article I’m reading about it says the males spend their brief lives Getting drunk on oak sap, getting into fights midair (even birds sometimes) and just FUCKING all the bitches it can find. A true king right there.

But it’s special quirk is that it just loves the smell of putrid rotting meat. And people who are into butterfly watching just go out in june-july toting all this weird smelly stuff trying to attract them like smelly cheese, animal shit, stinky shrimp paste and rotting fish. What it loves MOST is road kill and human sweat. Apparently it’s attracted to the minerals in it?

And the reason it’s rare is because they all sorta gather around road kill and just roll around in it and while they’re lost in the sauce-they get hit by cars.
