Byakuya, about Xeno wishing to be a dictator: Senku, your mentor is...kind of unsettling.

Senku: I don't give one millimeter of damn that Xeno is a homosexual.

Byakuya would be the type to slideshow all of Senku's achievements and bring him up any kind of conversation.

And honestly, if I had a son like Senku I wouldn't shut up about him either.

Would Senku initiate a hug if he DID meet Byakuya in the stone world? I think no.

As much as I wish to break him into leaning for physical affection, his first instinct when he feels intense emotions is to freeze. He would try to calculate the possible reasons for the outcome, and when it's unknown, he smirks, because it's time to figure that out! Get excited!

Back to the question, I think Byakuya would be the same as ever— running towards Senku to hug him tight. But Senku would still be frozen. He didn't want his mind to play tricks on him, even if he could feel the warmth in the embrace. He is not getting fooled again (cue 4D Science)

But he would stay. Even if Byakuya was an illusion, he would let himself believe it just for a while. And when he does realise it's all real by everyone else's reaction, THAT'S when he is hugging Byakuya back, very tightly.

If being constantly reminded of his dad was not enough, when Senku would go around reviving some scientists, one of them would come to him and be like "Oh! YOU are Ishigami Senku! I used to study under your father! He was the one who motivated me to become a quantum physicist :)"

I think, compared to the "I watched them die in front of my eyes" trope, the "I woke up and they were dead" trope is much, much more painful.
